Craft Ears Omnium

Thanks to Sandeep & Kashyap from Audio Geek India Tour for sending me this marvelous Iem for my honest insights.

First Impressions : I got the Iem in it's original carry case which was very well made and tough , inside i got two cables one balanced & the other 3.5 ,no tips were provided so i tested with my own tips and got JVC ones to fit and sound right, the iem itself is very beautiful and well put together screaming of high quality manufacturing.
Overall : 10/10

Treble : As soon as i started listening to the iem i immediately noticed the bright tuning of the iem thanks to it's Balanced Armature drivers which have been extremely well tuned for the job , the details in this region just pop out at you with detail and precision , the speed of the hits wows you because there is almost no smearing in the high notes as is usually the case with good quality BA drivers. Extension in this region feels endless with even the highest notes getting through to you with no apparent artifacts.
9/10

Mids : Both the male and female vocals sound very very convincing with an emphasis on female voice being bang on . The instruments however sometimes get overpowered by the insane treble , it could very well be me since i am not a treble head and usually like that region to be well tamed but nothing too concerning about the mids since they are reproduced faithfully.
8/10

Bass : I found the bass to be of very high quality almost like a studio monitor level but not like the powerful subwoofers (Z1r), The detail and definition of the bass is of very good quality & reproduced without any noticeable artifacts , there is rumble here and there but without overpowering any others regions of the spectrum.
9/10

Eq Capabilities : This iem has a very flexible character as i found it be easily eqed without fuss or overly impacting the end result sound quality , treble can be tamed if you so desire , the mids can be boosted up without narrowing the stage or disturbing the elements within it ,the bass can be pumped up to subwoofer like levels without overpowering the treble , i think this is possible because of the hybrid driver setup which can take generous amount of correction to the spectrum if so desired.

Sound Stage : Very pleasing in this regard , you are shrouded in a 360 bubble of sound with very clear directional cues in movies and games and very convincing reflections if listening to a live event , stage has both dept and width in ample quantity.

Overall a solid 9/10 iem with 1 point off just because i am not a treble head.

Craft Ears Omnium
Pros: Highly Technical, Great Sub Bass, Overall Good Tonality, Micro Details, Sound Stage, Vocal Clarity, Separation and Imaging, Build Quality, Looks, Great Accessories Including A Really Nice Travel Case
Cons: A Little On The Bulky Side, Fit And Comfort Isn't The Best I've Encountered, Tuning Probably Not For Everyone, Sometimes A Bit Too Forward
Firstly I want to thank Audio Geek Brotherhood for the tour of the Craft Ears Omnium.

INTRODUCTION:
The Craft Ears Omnium is a hybrid in ear monitor that consists of a 9.2mm dynamic driver, 10mm planar and 5 balanced armatures.

SOURCES, TIPS, CABLE:
Xduoo XP2 BAL
Letshuoer DT03
Topping L30 II
Xduoo XQ50 Pro 2 DAC
Xduoo MT-602 (upgraded with JAN 5654W tubes)
Spinfit Omni
Feaulle H570
And a hand made custom balanced 4.4 SPC cable, by Marco Custom Cables

GENERAL SOUND SIGNATURE AND TUNING:
The Omnium is a froward leaning, bright and airy set, with a hint of warmth, that renders both vocal and instrumental passages with a bright and forward presentation.

SUB BASS:
The sub bass hits with authority and gets low, and has plenty of rumble and extension, but remains clean and has good texture and tonality.
In genres that are heavy on sub bass like EDM, Dubstep, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, the Omnium delivers it's sub bass with authority and clarity, without getting muddy or bleeding into the mids.

MID BASS:
The mid bass attack is fast and punchy, and gives a good presence to kick drums, base guitars, with a sense of realism and good tonality.
However it's not the meatiest mid bass, but it is enough to convey drums and vocals in a natural way.

MIDS:
The mids are natural and detailed, with vocals sounding clean and articulate.
The planar handles most of the midrange in the Omnium, so naturally they are clear and present good micro details in the mids.

TREBLE:
The treble is handled by the balanced armatures, and is well defined and airy, with good micro details in the treble, vocals have a natural and bright tonality, with air and good extension in the upper treble.
Instruments are given plenty of detail and micro details as well, while still sounding natural.
There's plenty of air in the upper frequencies, which adds width and height to the overall presentation of the Omnium.

SOUND STAGE AND IMAGING:
The sound stage and imaging of the Omnium is very good.
The sound stage is wide, with a sense of depth and height.
The imaging is pretty accurate, and you can place instruments and vocals easily within the sound stage.

Some General Thoughts On The Omnium:
The Omnium isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you like a more organic sound, as the Omnium is pretty far from organic.
But for those who like a highly detailed and a more forward signature, with tons of micro details, this is probably going to hit the spot.

Thanks again to Audio Geek Brotherhood tours for arranging the tour of the Craft Ears Omnium for Australia.

It's a really good product, but the cable wasn't good. The better the cable, the greater the performance, but the problem is that you have to use it as much as the price of the earphone.

Yeah, wasn't my favourite cable, I wound up using a custom SPC balanced cable.
