Firstly I want to thank Audio Geek Brotherhood for arranging the tour of the Penon Voltage, it is currently doing a tour in Australia.

I mostly used the Divinus Velvet wide bore or Feaulle H570 tips through out my listening.
Sub Bass:
The sub bass is well controlled, and you can increase the amount of sub bass by turning the dip switches on or off, located on the back of the shell.
The sub bass extends well, and has good texture and the bass tonality is very well presented too, reminiscent of the TSMR X or ISN H60 bass.
It's tight well controlled and articulate.
You get a good sense of weight too.
Mid Bass & Mids:
Mid bass is punchy, and by turning on the dip switches, you get a fuller harder hitting impact, which stays pretty well controlled.
Tonality for kick drums and base guitars is good.
You get a natural textured bass from kick drum hits, with good attack and a natural amount of weight and slam.
The mids are warm, which gives a natural warmth to vocals and instruments.
Resolution and tonality of the mids is good, vocals are natural with good body and texture.
Instruments like cellos, violins, pianos have a natural presentation, with good micro detail and resolution.
Treble:
The treble is also quite natural, has good tonality and good resolution and micro detail, it's not over extended, it's well balanced with the bass and mids.
The treble has a little bit of extension, not super airy though, but good resolution and detail.
Female vocals are warm, but airy, and natural.
Sound Stage/Imaging:
The sound stage and imaging is good, the staging is natural with good amounts of height and width.
The sound stage depth is also quite decent, the bass adds adequate depth to the staging.
There's good separation too, from left to right.
Imaging is also well done, you can place instruments and vocals in the stage quite well.
This gives the Voltage a good natural and spacious sound.
Even in busy tracks the imaging is quite good.
Some of my favourite live tracks sound great on the Voltage, like Addiction, by Skinny Puppy.
The Voltage handles all my playlists really well, from metal, with the likes of Ne Obliviscaris, Meshuggah, The Black Dahlia Murder, Tool, Gojira, Nightwish, Opeth, to darker electronic music, like Drum & Bass and Dubstep, and other genres like Hip Hop, Jazz, EDM, Rock, K-Pop.
The better the quality of the recordings the better the Voltage displays it's ability to render clean and clear, well controlled playback.
Well that's all I have to say on the Voltage, it was an absolute pleasure getting to listen to this set, Penon surely do make some great IEM's.
Highly recommend checking out the Penon Voltage if you have the opportunity.
Thanks again to the Audio Geek Brotherhood for arranging these tours.
