Craft Ears Omnium

Craft Ears Omnium
Pros: Highly Technical, Great Sub Bass, Overall Good Tonality, Micro Details, Sound Stage, Vocal Clarity, Separation and Imaging, Build Quality, Looks, Great Accessories Including A Really Nice Travel Case
Cons: A Little On The Bulky Side, Fit And Comfort Isn't The Best I've Encountered, Tuning Probably Not For Everyone, Sometimes A Bit Too Forward
Firstly I want to thank Audio Geek Brotherhood for the tour of the Craft Ears Omnium.

INTRODUCTION:
The Craft Ears Omnium is a hybrid in ear monitor that consists of a 9.2mm dynamic driver, 10mm planar and 5 balanced armatures.

SOURCES, TIPS, CABLE:
Xduoo XP2 BAL
Letshuoer DT03
Topping L30 II
Xduoo XQ50 Pro 2 DAC
Xduoo MT-602 (upgraded with JAN 5654W tubes)
Spinfit Omni
Feaulle H570
And a hand made custom balanced 4.4 SPC cable, by Marco Custom Cables

GENERAL SOUND SIGNATURE AND TUNING:
The Omnium is a froward leaning, bright and airy set, with a hint of warmth, that renders both vocal and instrumental passages with a bright and forward presentation.

SUB BASS:
The sub bass hits with authority and gets low, and has plenty of rumble and extension, but remains clean and has good texture and tonality.
In genres that are heavy on sub bass like EDM, Dubstep, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, the Omnium delivers it's sub bass with authority and clarity, without getting muddy or bleeding into the mids.

MID BASS:
The mid bass attack is fast and punchy, and gives a good presence to kick drums, base guitars, with a sense of realism and good tonality.
However it's not the meatiest mid bass, but it is enough to convey drums and vocals in a natural way.

MIDS:
The mids are natural and detailed, with vocals sounding clean and articulate.
The planar handles most of the midrange in the Omnium, so naturally they are clear and present good micro details in the mids.

TREBLE:
The treble is handled by the balanced armatures, and is well defined and airy, with good micro details in the treble, vocals have a natural and bright tonality, with air and good extension in the upper treble.
Instruments are given plenty of detail and micro details as well, while still sounding natural.
There's plenty of air in the upper frequencies, which adds width and height to the overall presentation of the Omnium.

SOUND STAGE AND IMAGING:
The sound stage and imaging of the Omnium is very good.
The sound stage is wide, with a sense of depth and height.
The imaging is pretty accurate, and you can place instruments and vocals easily within the sound stage.

Some General Thoughts On The Omnium:
The Omnium isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you like a more organic sound, as the Omnium is pretty far from organic.
But for those who like a highly detailed and a more forward signature, with tons of micro details, this is probably going to hit the spot.

Thanks again to Audio Geek Brotherhood tours for arranging the tour of the Craft Ears Omnium for Australia.

It's a really good product, but the cable wasn't good. The better the cable, the greater the performance, but the problem is that you have to use it as much as the price of the earphone.

Yeah, wasn't my favourite cable, I wound up using a custom SPC balanced cable.
