Pros: They play sound, and hook up through everyday common connectors!
Cons: MUD!
The Logitech Z-2300 were a decent pair of speakers. A few friend had them and  I was enthused when they played them. Also they were made at a time where it's said that fitting the most quality into  this range of computer speakers was the goal of many manufacturers (*Klipsch ProMedia 2.0, from said time period, still selling*) Logitech has and ugly side we all know too well. In current days it would seem keeping up with the neighbors and releasing products made cheaply with false claims is the route taken here.

The highs and mids are a mixed, muddy, bloody mess, despite allegedly using the same tweeters as the Z-2300. The sub is OK, it gets boom and muddy when turns to high (aside  from the volume itself) On top of the ikky sound they took out the separate control pad and put all the knobs on the right speaker, so you can't 'stow' them or put the right speaker out of reach. To make matters worse, there is no externally present slow blow fuse. The fuse is inside the *smaller* sub so if that blows, your down an entire set (happened to me

If (*IF* and only ifffff) yo need a  quick fix then be my guest though for the ~$150 range there IS better.

Pros: You can hear EVERYTHING!!!
Cons: The high end. What!!!
To be short, sweet and to the point, after lurking for some time and running pass to great reviews of a potential giant killer I couldn't resist. Plus with my SE-115s going out I needed something new so I took the plunge. So this is the neutral sound everyone was raving about. I simply love it! Besides to terribly miss-handled highs (seriously what on earth were they thinking) these thing show quite the detail. I have to rediscover my music. Oddly enough though I found the odd high end to help for some recordings, however it's easy to see how these could become fatiguing for some listeners, and that's not even to mention the clamping force. I can deal withe the highs but the clamping is what gives me head aches.

All in all, they are totally worth it.

Pros: Great step up
Cons: Strait pin connector
OK, So I had been looking into stepping up from the $10 mass production headphone for quiet some time. I had stumbled upon Ultimate Ears in my research and like their upbringings and what not.

Long story short after getting used to jamming something up to my ear canals I was quiet pleased, especially when hooked into my Sony D-NF430 walkman (a huge factor in my move to upgrade). A step up, everything will be clearer than any cheap pair of headphones from wlamat.

Unfortunately after only 8 months the achilles' heel of any pair of iem's, and to my dismay it appears most of UEs products use the strait connector instead of the L-shape. Why logitech didn't do something about that in their re-branding idk (just goes to show they are evil i guess)
