This is not going to be a long detailed , rambling review. Being honest those that have reviewed the ZEN thus far I hold in high regard and couldn't possibly reach their high standards ! It's more of an emotional soliloquy about a product I like a hell of a lot. Like a rapper freestyling in one take with a bit of editing after the event. My love affair with "chi fi' started with the Dunu 2000j. I had bought the akg 3003 , at the time it was endgame. An expensive set that luckily I got at a discounted price from my local exchange store. I loved them. A few months later , I purchased the Dunu 2000js. Out of curiosity and again a good price. I was staggered that a set that was a quarter of the price of my AKG actually sounded wayyyy better. I became a DUNU fan. Over the next few years I bought the Sennheiser ie800 also Ultimate ears UE900. As a DJ work was plentiful. I focussed on music production , running club nights , touring etc. The 2000s were my go to while travelling. I got on the Chi Fi bandwagon in 2018. I wondered to myself "where Dunu at?" . The titan and falcon had passed me by. Last spring I was intrigued by Dunu new line up DK 2001,3001 and the 4001 piqued my interest. The Luna a bit out of my reach. I purchased the 2001 and fell in love again. I was happy Dunu eleviated the spiciness of the 2000j. Timbre and tonality were spot on. The lows were punchy. The mids sublime. Once again these were my go to's . We were now in Lockdown in London . I had a lot more time on my hands . Listening to music became almost like meditation . IEMS become my mode of transport out of the monotony. I began to hear about the fabled ZEN around November of 2020. I read about the trickled down technology from the Luna. How Dunu had scientifically built the Zen using futuristic methods. I have grown to love a single dynamic over the last 18 months. The cohesiveness, the feeling of sound coming to you in one whole. By the end of 2020 single dynamics were a thing. Let's cut to the chase ! Jan 2021 the ZEN arrived . Immediately I was enamoured by the packaging. Stylish and elegant. The cable looked expensive and blingy. Like a platinum rope chain Jay Z would wear. Put it this way I would be wary wearing them in the hood ! The 3.5 single ended & balanced 2.5/4.4 interchangeable adapters were to my liking. The ZEN themselves were smaller than I thought they would be. They look like black pearls. The heft feels strangely dense and luxurious. They looked and felt like the real deal. I plugged them into my fiio M15 , I felt engaged immediately. I left them to burn in before critical analysis. 80 hours seemed like a lifetime. Whether you believe in burn in or not to my ears the sound had changed. The tonality sounded more rounded. More crystalline. The harshness of the upper mids were tamed. That night I decided to road test them. After 4 hours or so I didn't want to put them down. I was bewitched. The bass morphs to whatever your listening. Sometimes thick , agile subs. Other times they would sit in the background making the mids take the floor. Midbass has perfect slam. Fast and taut. Kick drums were on point with the right amount of decay. The lows sounded so natural. Never showy. The lows are technically the best I've heard to date. The low mids are smooth with a whiff of warmth. Marvin Gaye sounded so right. His falsetto never shrill or too cold . The upper mids had the right amount of bite and spice. Female vocals were nuanced with the right amount of weight , resolution and emotion. At rare moments ( It's too late by Carole King) her voice peaked slightly too much. No sibilance. Her voice just stepped over my threshold. The highs are a bone of contention to many. Some have written that the roll off is too drastic. Treble trails are almost non existent. Whilst I understand where they are coming from for my library which consists of soul , jazz , funk , soft rock and dance music it was never an issue. I find whilst there could be a bit more extended they suited my taste. I found the highs smooth and silky. With a good amount of weight and decay. Finely tuned. Just the right amount of sauce. Your mileage may vary. The soundstage has good width , height and great depth. Sound images play beautifully in the field. The ZEN are musical without necessarily being "fun" . Percussion have such great density and tone. Guitars , strings and vocals sound perfect. There is an organic feel to staging. Some sets the stage is so wide you can get a bit lost in the sound. As a DJ there is a huge difference between playing to 10,000 people than there is playing to an intimate crowd of say 200. You fill the space , there is much more of engagement and emotion playing to a smaller crowd. The ZEN stage immerses you with sound. Makes you connect with your music. To each his own. Some may like playing to a larger crowd. To wrap it up I am enchanted by the ZEN. As the name suggests it does have a meditational effect if you let it. After all these years DUNU have done it again. They have created a futuristic , modern , emotional , resolute piece of technology that deserves your attention..

Believer
Pros: Lush mids , imaging, natural stage, great with female vocals, silky highs, resolution
Cons: Hard to drive, overbearing mid bass, recessed male vocals
Firstly , I bought the K Bear Believe with my own hard earned money. I have no affiliation with K Bear whatsoever .2020 started slowly it seemed the juice had run out on the Chi fi bandwagon . Mainly because of the pandemic.Towards the end of the year the wagon was moving at breakneck speed with great sets coming out seemingly every other day. Great tech innovations , cool designs we were spoilt for choice ! Under $200 became cluttered with much hyped end gamers. Riding at the front of the hype train was K Bear Believe . Sporting a pure beryllium driver usually found in kilobuck sets. The anticipation in the everyman scaled dizzy heights . Was the mythical Believe really pure beryllium ? Coming in at under 200 dollars? Well disbelief was the order of the day . So much so skeptical reviewers actually opened them up to find it was indeed pure beryllium. Mine arrived 2 days before Christmas. Let's dive in.... I really like the design especially the sparkly 3 d faceplate. Nice to see something other than the customary German resin cum custom design that have become rather boring . Of course they are similar to K Bear elegant Diamond. The cable is nice . A 6N copper litz with a 2 pin connector. All in all, the Believe looks elegant and attractive.

Now to the rather large elephant in the room . They are difficult to drive . Using a smartphone won't do the trick . Even with the hidizs portable dongle attached to the Galaxy Note 10. Whilst they sound clean enough you have to push them to the limit which doesn't really work unless the recordings are pristine . On my ifi dac amp they sound ok but on occasions can sound bloated , also congested With the Fiio M15 they sound really good ! But seeing as they cost much more than the Believe, it's not ideal . This reminds me of smart phones using luxurious first generation tech that doesn't get perfected until 3 or 4 th iterations . While I can't fault K Bear for being adventurous not everyone has expensive DACS / DAPS capable of driving the Believes and that in itself is a bit of a faux pas.
LOWS. Bass is thick, lush and resolving . Slam is good, note weight is punchy and thick . My issue here lies in the mid bass. On certain tracks kick drums sound too forward , sounding exaggerated and overwhelming. Apparently cable rolling can resolve this issue also using the open red silicone tips tame the mid bass slightly . It's a shame because this only happens occasionly in the main they sound creamy with good rumble, nice tonality and a relaxing feel and good musicality. We are not talking Penon Orb good but good enough for the price.

MIDS.
Midrange is very pleasant with good definition and clarity. Vocals sound relaxed never shrill or shouty. Female vocals sound exhilarating with clean tones also perfect weight. They spread nicely across the range never sounding boxy. Male vocals can sound recessed, lacking grumble and bite. Whilst being audible falsettos sound too far back in the mix . Baritones lacking roundness and heft albeit pianos , strings and guitars sound great. With natural timbre and great presence. Also commendable the air between notes sound fantastic. Placement and space are first class conveying emotions perfectly. HIGHS. Treble sound really good with good definition never sounding rolled off . Decays are quick, extension and transients shimmer making the highs sparkly never splashy or too sharp ! K Bear did a great job here . The highs never sound dark or overtly rich. They work well with the overall signature bringing clarity ,sparkle and resolution to the party. One of the highlights of the Believe SOUNDSTAGE/IMAGING.

Staging is not the widest I've heard I never had a problem as it doesn't sound too intimate. Width sound natural , at times they stretch beyond the ears and never really sound in your head. This is due to very good separation, spatial cues and very good air between instruments and vocals. This brings great musicality and also a really good sense of resolve . This is clever tuning . It makes the Believe sound very emotive. Details are very good not Blessing 2 good but thankfully they never ever sound fatiguing .
VERDICT. While I have a few issues I really like the Believe. It's a bold, adventurous , slightly flawed endeavour. I have to applaud K Bear for bring expensive tech to the masses. I love the design, packaging and cable. Also kudos for bringing a weighty, lush, emotive and resolving set to the table. My nitpicks can be put down to first gen issues , which hopefully will be resolved in their next iteration.

The pleasure principle
Pros: Cohesion , Tonality , Balance , Shapeshifting bass , great mids , treble weight
Cons: None at this price.
Sometimes it's difficult to review things that you love. All the analysis can't always portray the emotional connection you have with things. This is not about graphs or breakdowns. This is a very brief , emotive review ! If that's not your bag , please keep scrolling ! DUNU have been around in shape and form for some time now. Their excellent DK range which includes the 3001 pro and the 4001 have been rightly praised to the hilt by some of the best reviewers around. The Luna along with their equally excellent studio range ( SA3 and the SA6) have rode the hype train. The brand new ZEN is a single driver set that brings futuristic tech to the table. Whilst the 2001 straddled the lower middle price range don't sleep on this beauty. Blessed with a fantastic cable and a retro style , non resin design this little wonder is not to be dismissed. With a 13 mm beryllium driver and 3 Knowles BAs the dk2001 incooperates tech that on paper doesn't cry futurism . But hear me out , the tuning for the price belies it's brilliance. While it seems one might be getting carried away let me try and explain why I love this set so much. I bought these full priced in the summer of 2020. In the middle of lockdown and with covid running rife , I had more time than normal to digest music. It was my gateway out of an uncertain future . On first listen , I was rather non plussed. Yeah they were good but to my ears nothing special. One night I thought I paid a bit of money for these let me check them out again . Over a 4 hour period they won me over big time. What got me was the graceful way it presented my library. Whilst not having the biggest soundstage or the most extended highs I'd ever heard what got me was it did everything right. The bass was fantastic. Full lower mids , beautiful balanced upper mids. Vocals sound delightful. The highs were rich never descended in splashiness or sounding particularly dark they blended beautifully with the range. I couldn't put this set down. Dawn rose and there I was blissed out listening to Do it again by Steely Dan. Wow ! I was taken aback. No fatigue just sheer exhilaration. Ok this is not the most analytical of reviews , many far better at articulating what they hear have done that many times with the DK2001. I have many sets but few have taken me to that place like this set has. Anyway , it's 6am in London time to wrap this up. Apologies if you we're expecting a blow by blow detailed account on this iem. I just wanted share how a great iem should make you feel. As I said before there are many sets with better technicalities etc etc etc. But , if like me you want music to feel resolving and emotional and you don't want to break the bank spending 2k plus on a pair of in ear monitors you don't get much better than the DUNU DK 2001.

Very very nice....
Mine arrived just yesterday
Have been waiting for about a month for the parcel to reach Athens...and consider my self being very lucky since DK2001 is officially discontinued by DUNU...
Having bought years ago DN2000 and recently rediscovered my library with those got me thinking about getting DK2001 as well...
Haven't opened the box yet waiting for the weekend to arrive there...
But I can take your word for granted since previous model DN2000 is super crazy emotional and exceptional in reproduction, I believe DK2001 (being a straight upgrade to DN2000) will be a total winner too....
Very nice description of the impact those had on you man...... :smirk:

The special one...
Pros: Fast transients , Timbre , Tonality , Great holographic soundstage , Super fast bass , Transparency
Cons: Poor cable , Mild sibilance
First things first. I buy all my sets full price. i have not nearly reached the exalted position of getting gear for free.. So, in many ways my review comes from a consumerist angle.. I have no affiliation at all with Final Audio. Now that is cleared up let me begin. Final Audio are a Japanese company. I have been to Japan many times , I have always been impressed by their passion for music , attention to detail also their dedication for making quality products. Final Audio are known for making quality audio produce. I am fan of their E series , i have all the sets from the E2000 upwards. Their flagship is the pure beryllium A8000 which is 2K plus. I have not heard them but they garnered rave reviews . Most reviewers mention their natural qualities. The same can be said of their E series which of course is their budget range. The E2000 are my favourites. Proving less is sometimes more. A lower number does not necessarily mean a significant drop in standards .Let us start with the tangibles. They are very light.Materials used are ABS thermoplastic resin. The A4000 have a blue grey hue. Not metal clad like the gorgeous B series. Looks are modest. At the same time they are inconspicous also kinda cute. You wont see the Jenner sisters wearing them on the catwalk. The cable is pretty poor. Thin, non braided and breakable. To make matters worse the 2 pin connectors are recessed making it almost impossible to cable roll. On the bright side they include the excellent Final tips in the box.I have not tip rolled as they sound great. It is a very spartan affair .To be honest i expected more. Final have adopted a 6mm single driver with their new f core DU driver coating in brass. They are currently sold out in Japan and have won numerous awards , it is easy to see why after hearing them SOUND. The A4000 adopt a bright neutral sound with a whiff of warmth in the mids. the bass is lean , fast and agile. Note weight is moderate . Midrange sound transparent and clean. Lots of air with recessed lower mids and bright uppermids that can lend to mild sibilance. Female vocals sound natural. Male vocals could do with a bit more heft if truth be known. The highs shimmer and sparkle . Imaging and separation are superb with the most grandiose of soundstages . LOWS. The lows are fast and lean. At first i thought they sounded too light but very nimble. They never sounded anaemic ,but , i could have done with a bit more weight. Notes are pretty round with moderate slam. What is impressive is there is no bleed or bloating. Decay is almost BA like. Notes stick around long enough to never seem to thin or lacking. Lows reminded me of the Blessing 2 but has more texture also they are more resolving The bass always sits behind the vocals and at times you do not even realise it is there ! They have a satisfying punch that grows and you over time. You wont get "Beryllium bounce". After a while I was very impressed.

MIDS. The midrange is airy ,clean and transparent they are neutral bright with a whiff of warmth. Detail retrieval is very good. Female vocals can sound a tad bright at times yet still has a sense of realism that is enchanting. Male vocals fare less better lacking punch but never sounding shouty or peaky. There is a distinct lack of colour and lushness that can bring out sibilance on rare occasions. If the music is sibilant it won't hide it. No smearing bad recordings can sound well ! Bad ! What is great , is layering and a sense of air that belies its 6mm origins. The background is black with no grey areas. There is a great sense of openess very rare in this price bracket. You never get congestion or a sense of in your head feeling. Every thing sounds very spacious with a feeling of clarity.Impressive. HIGHS. Treble have great shimmer and sparkle. With good weight , timbre and tonality. They have decent extension with no real sense of roll off. We are not taking Andromeda levels , but for the price , they are more than acceptable .Transients are very good never a sense of lag . Maybe if you are treble sensitive you might find them bright . The unforgiving feel may be too much for some. I am no treble freak , i find the treble works with the signature ..Even better you don't get a splashy vibe. They are not smooth like a well tuned piezo on the plus side you dont get plasticky BA treble. No complaints. SOUNDSTAGE. Welcome to the star of the show. Stage , imaging and separation are exemplary. The stage has bombastic width and height. Vocals are cranium height , the width at times shoulder length. You never have the sense of fake staging. It sounds natural and real. At times like being on the balcony watching the band. Depth is on point. Never feeling to close or too far away. This is where Final sprinkled their special sauce. Imaging and separation are first class. Always easy to sense exactly where the band are playing. Strings and horns sound cavernous rising up with a real sense of cohesion . Listening Donald Byrd , The Loner .The sense of space alongside the excellent placement are exhilarating. Separation feels heady giving a euphoric sense at times. I have heard staging like this only on rare occasions in a much higher price bracket. It is impressive and worth the price of admission. A round of applause VERDICT. In the last 18 months or so we have seen the rise of the single driver. From Moondrops fantastic Starfield , Kanas pro and KXXS also the well received Tanchjim Oxygen and Hana. JVC superb FDX1 . Not to mention Blon 01 and 3 and the recent hype driven sets such as the K Bear Believe , NF Audio NM2 Plus and Fiios FD5 not to mention the highly anticipated DUNU ZEN , the single DD is on a roll .When tuned right it is hard to beat the tonality and cohesion. The K Bear Believe is like cruising down Ocean Drive in a Bentley , The NM2 Plus is like taking a bungee jump of Mount Fuji , The Final Audio is like taking a swin in a large ocean. There are caveats . The cable is not up to todays standard. The words "could do better" spring to mind. The recessed 2 pin connector is annoying to say the least. The bright signature will not be for everyone especially since early 2020 chi fi has gone all lush and gooey. I am nitpicking here . The final audio a4000 is worth every penny . They are fantastic ! If you want a transparent , addictive ,cohesive , well tuned set with an amazing soundstage , great detail retrieval , very fast transients alongside pin point imaging chops , look no further.

I'll be giving these a try. Hopefully they sound better than YBF, at least, but I'm doubtful about the bass ability. Hopefully not peaky like Believe, also.

I liked the ybf a lot. What don't you like about the Believe!?
CT007
CT007
Believe has too strong bass, with too much ear pressure, and although the treble is overall smooth and refined, it has a peak that goes too high. It's probably the brightest IEM I have currently, with TFZ No.3 in 2nd place I'd say. Basically FH3, with even more bass, and more treble.

Sleeper...
Pros: Fantastic bass, decent resolving mids, great separation , tonality , price.
Cons: Mid bass is slightly overpowering
Tripowin are known as makers of very decent cables. Having not heard the well received TP10 I knew very little about Tripowin as makers of iems. Just before Christmas I saw a review by a well known reviewer (bad guy) on you tube looked them up on Amazon, six days later they arrived. I was surprised how cool and sturdy they looked. The Tripowin utilises a single dynamic driver. Not bucking the current trend. So I expected cohesiveness alongside speed and good tonal range. They came in a modest box. The cable looked decent for the price. Stock tips looked a bit meh!! Immediately swapped them for a pair of final tips. I was very surprised at what I heard. Summary."Punching above their weight" is possibly the most overused terms in audiophile land. In this case that annoying phrase rings true. The thing that struck me immediately was clarity. No budget veil here . Lows , mids and highs have a resolve I've not heard many times in this price range. Vocals sound glorious , tonality is on point. Timbre is very good. All in all they are indeed "punching" Lows. The lows are clean ,fast and tight. Impact is great. Maybe a tad too much mid bass but that can be overlooked. The speed and clean delivery makes a mockery of the bloated bass of budget darlings the Blon 01 and 03. Notes are rounded , decay is swift. No bounciness or bloat not to my ears . Texture is good , I've heard better but no complaints. Bass heads need not apply. Mids. Midrange is the special sauce on any set. I can report that the 01 delivers. Weight is decent. Female vocals sound wonderful , due to a slight emphasis in the upper mids. Pristine is a word I like and sums up perfectly the female voice. Male vocals are good but lack a bit of meat at times. Listening to Marvin Gaye his falsetto at times sound a bit feathery. No sibilance or shoutiness the bane of budget sets at times. Yes it is V shaped but tastefully done. The midrange are not scooped out but recessed not at the detriment of definition . Highs. Whilst your not going to get great extension thankfully the highs are not dark or particularly rolled off. They shimmer and sparkle. Edges sound clean at times the treble come across a bit thin , could do with a bit more weight but we are talking under $49 who's complaining? Treble is smooth and silky . A round of applause. The rest. Stage and imaging are very good. The stage lacks depth but is wide enough never to leave you wanting. Imaging is slightly above average . You can easily point out where the instruments are supposed to be. Separation is very good. Has an airiness which belies its price. You never get the feeling of stuffiness or claustrophobia. I would say it's a definite strong point with these mini marvels .
Verdict. I must say im slightly in love with the TC-10 .They are so pleasantly tuned and inoffensive. Listening to music on this set is an absolute joy. No peakiness (is that even a word?. In fact there is not one thing about them that is abrasive in anyway. Lows are fast , agile and a real highlight. Vocals have a robustness I've rarely heard in the budget category. Also to be noted is the clarity and floaty feel that is everpresent leaving you with a heady and euphoric feel. Yes the budget world is full of great sets . SSR , Blons , K bear Lark etc etc. I would take these over any of them because I don't ever get the feeling there is anything missing when I listen them. Tuned just right. A job very well done .

For the masses
Pros: Tonality, Resolving mids, Great separation, Musicality, Silky highs
Cons: Cable
Firstly. Apologies for my jumbled mess of a review. In future, I will have to get some esteemed reviewer to do an edit for me. Stick with it anyways... The Fiio fh7 was my first venture into chi fi land. They have a special place in my collection. 30 plus Iems later, here comes the fiio fh3. The hype is real for once, it is fully justified. The only qualm I have about the build is the heavy cable! The shells are reminiscent of the fh7 with fiio distinctive wave pattern, it lacks the gold trimming and feel but, they fit well, without any driver flex at least to my ears. I get a good seal. I used the red silicone tips. They have the right balance in fit and sound.. On first listen my thinking was I liked them without being blown away. The initial impression was of a dark, bassy, mass market sound that didn't really distinguish itself from the likes of many of Iems that have come out in 2020. The more I listened to them the more I became enveloped in their lush textures. Before I knew it I was in love. They have a totally addictictive musical nature. Bass. The bass at first seems slightly overwhelming but the more you listen the more you realize the bass takes a back seat when it needs to. If what your listening to is bassy the fiio fh3 will slam, if not, it will take a back seat. The thing is the texture! You don't get that one note feel you get on badly tuned or cheap Iems. Whether it's the beryllium coating or fiios tuning, it is bass done right. The sub bass hits deep in sync with the mid bass. You never get weird artifacts, or a sense they are not balanced. Very similar in tone to the more expensive Dunu Dk 2001. The bass is fantastic. Mids. The mids are very resolving, in fact, they are the most surprising aspect of these beauties. The midrange has a clean floor for a warm iem. No bleeding from the subs Vocals sounds clear and concise both male and female. You don't get any stuffiness, you do get a lovely glow. Percussion, strings, woodwind all have spot on timbre. Everything sounds full and lifelike. There is always a nice sense of space and air. You don't normally find this kind of precise tuning in Iems at this price. Tonality is up there with the fabled JVCFDX1. Treble. The highs are Silky smooth. Not the most extended, like what you find in far pricier models, saying that, they have the right amount of shimmer and sparkle so they never sound muted or muffled. In fact they go perfectly with the whole balanced aesthetic. Perhaps more extended treble would have thrown the balance off slightly. I'm happy to report no metallic tinges which I do find sometimes on the fh7. Soundstage and Imaging. The stage is not the widest I've heard by any means. But I never felt wanting. It has an intimacy that works well with my library. Mainly because the amount of air between the instruments and vocals never sound stuffy also stereo cues and panning are very natural. You don't get trickery to make it sound more resolving. Which I despise. At times if the track demands you will get a slightly out of your head feel but in the main everything sounds close. For some this may be problematic for me it's perfect. Summary. I can't tell you pleasantly surprised I am with how much I like these Iems. On first hearing, I was kinda non plussed, now I'm addicted. Fiio has worked wonders here. You won't get the most detail retrieval or the widest soundstage or totl highs. You can find more resolving Iems with better imaging etc. But from musicality and when you want to be immersed in your library these are hard to beat especially for the price. I would go as far as to say I prefer them to my Fh7s, the highly lauded Moondrop Blessing 2 and even my beloved ISN H40 that is saying something. These are no giant killers or a threat to the kilobuck massive. But, for the price the performance is far and above many in its range. In my eyes, you can't beat a well tuned iem! These couldn't have be tuned better. In fact, in many ways, this is Fiiio' s long awaited masterpiece!

The affordable nirvana
Pros: Timber, Tonality, Soundstage, Imaging, Stereo separation, Fantastic mids, Agile textured bass, Vocals sound fantastic.
Cons: Heavy shells.
I have no affiliation with K Bear or Kinboofi. I bought these from Amazon with my hard earned money. This is my first review for head fi. I have to apologize for lack of audiophile terminology and ultra detailed reviewing etiquette... I have been collecting Iems for over a decade now. I'm a dj. A reasonably successful one. I have been involved in music in one way or the other since I was 13.I have been kinda quiet recently because of you know what! I have been in the game for 25 plus years. I have a deep love and passion for music of all kinds. So, let's be honest here, very few head fiers own the Solaris / Andromedas kilobuck Iems. It's like a faraway dreamland to many. That's why the chi fi explosion over the recent years has been so refreshing. You can get a very good all rounder for under the price of a meal nowadays. It's amazing that the tech used nowadays can be obtained for such a reasonable price. I'm old enough to remember when having more than a single driver in your Iems were the height of technology and endgame territory.. I own monitors going back to the heyday of Shure / Senheissers / Westone. I bought the ie800s a few years back for a decent price from a second hand store. I loved them. For many years they were endgame. Until I bought the fiio fh7 about 18 months. That changed the game for me. This hobby is a fascinating, expensive and addictive one. You can get purchase a pair of Iems for a week or so they will be the last pair you buy until of course the next big thing comes along..That's the nature of the beast. If you don't get real you can end up in financial meltdown.. Anyway, I digress. Recently I have purchased Moondrop Blessing 2, JVC FDX1 and IMR Red. All of them fantastic. They all punch way above their weight class. I thought that's it for me. I'm done. In these uncertain times this hobby has now got to stop. Until one day I was browsing the web and read a great review (check out his review @Nimweth) of the Kinboofi Tri 3. Buying blind is a real risk. You have to basically trust someone else's judgement. IEMS are not like over ears where generally what you get is what you get. So many variables are involved that make it such a risk. Eartips, Cables, Good fit and seal etc. You know the deal. So going on the review I took the risk. I purchased them on Amazon. They arrived within 24 hours. Within minutes of plugging in I knew I had made the right choice. To me Timbre and Tonality is kinda everything. I would rather good tone than an expansive soundstage any day. These have everything I love in an IEM. The bass is wonderful. It goes deep, never loses itself or intrude into the mids. In fact it stays out the way until called on. Texture and weight are perfect to my ears. Never sounding dark or moody. It has a great knack of keeping everything musical without intrusion. The mids are heavenly . U shaped maybe V shaped depending on your mileage. Clear, distinct, lush with fantastic resolution detail and importantly weight. Never sounding dry or thin. (Blessing 2 I'm looking at you). Treble is so fantastic. Lots of detail and shimmer. Silky delivery with good extension. Decay and speed are also top class. Credit to Kinboofi. The drivers (Dynamic, Plannar and BA) work with totl cohesion. No weird artifacts just superb layers of sound, depth and texture...The soundstage is the thing here. Maybe due to the size of the huge shells the stage hits as wide, deep and tall as I've heard.More often than not it hits you frontally and then spreads so wide at times it seems to take a space well out of the ear and extending pass the shoulder. If you have these you need to listen to So What / Miles Davis. The wonderful musicality makes Coltrane /Davis seem like they are jamming either side of you. Delivered with stealth and precision. A true out of your head experience. To be honest it's very very surreal. Great stage is nothing without speed, Imaging and separation. All of those things play with the magnificent stage to make you feel like your floating on notes at times. Instruments have perfect decay. Never lingering too long. Notes come and go very naturally. At times they seem to be doing a dance. Amazing! To me the best Iems make you lose your self in the music and forget you have small shells in your ears. That's what these do. They are immersive, addictive and so worth the money. They do everything right in my eyes. Of course it all depends on what your library consists of and your own personal taste of course. In these difficult times we can't all go and spend thousands on headphones. And to be honest I really don't think you have to anymore. You don't always have to be that guy. I'm not interested in bragging rights. For any price I would be more than happy with these. What I want is an IEM that makes music I love sound like it should and make you drift and forget these grim times. These do that in spades. If they make you feel like they make me feel then you will know what I'm talking about. Whenever the news comes on I reach for the Tri 3 and everything in life seems that little bit better..

A nice expression with the i3. :L3000: Similar to you, the IE800 (old one without the S) are the most costly pair that I own. At the moment these Tri Audio i3 arrived at my home, I start to realize that kilobucks are not the only way. Let's enjoy music without breaking the bank! :beerchug:
