Design & Build & Comfort
The design of the OH300 is beautiful, shell are made by resin, shell curve is really smooth and rounded, the shell is using the traditional way to made, not 3D printer. It come with the dark purple color, with the brand logo and name in silver front on the faceplate, it has the vent on inner layer of shell. The shells are slightly transparent, is the overall well design.

thumbnail_IMG20201030054608.jpg

thumbnail_IMG20201030054742.jpg

The build of OH300 is solid with good build quality, there are no any gap or sharp edges between faceplate and shell. It has the resin filled in at the nozzle part of the IEM to hold the component, The BA and DD driver are perfectly placed at the place, while the wire inside are neatly organized. The holes on the nozzle are perfectly drilled and divided into two sound bores for each of compound BA driver and the dynamic driver. The Mmcx female connector do not have sign of wear and tear after I swapped few times of cable.

thumbnail_IMG20201030054849.jpg

thumbnail_IMG20201030055108.jpg

The comfort on OH300 are really good thanks to the ergonomics design and slightly angle nozzles. The isolation is slightly above the average with white stock silicone tips. But I do find out the Spinfit CP100 can provide the better fit and isolation.

The build quality on VG4 are really solid and feel durable, the shell are finished in high standard, it is well rounded, without any gap and sharp edges. The VG4 only has the resin filled in at the sound bore part of IEM for holding the component. The BA driver are perfectly placed at the place, while the wire inside are really neatly organized. It has two sound bores and holes for each two driver, the nozzle are perfectly drilled into two holes. The MMCX female connectors are tight, and do not have sign of wear and tear after I swapped few times of cable. The dips switch are as functional as I received it after I switch it for a least hundred times.

thumbnail_IMG20201029064200.jpg

The fits of VG4 are really good, thanks to the semi-custom design. The nozzle are on the short side, but it doesn’t effect the fit in anyway, I actually find out the short nozzle can fit into my ear without coming out much from my ear, which is good idea for listen to music while sleeping. The VG4 also offer the custom fit option for provide the better fit. The isolation is above the average, without a lot of pressure build up.

OFF-OFF-OFF
This is reference mode on VG4, it has close to neutral and well balanced tonality.

ON-OFF-OFF
It boost the upper midrange and also on treble, the female vocal sound slightly thinner and lively compare to reference mode, the instrument sound more attacked as well, the soundstage are wider and more detail in comparison to reference mode. But it may cause fatiguing for someone.

OFF-ON-OF
It filled up the lower midrange, the male vocal sound more fuller and emotional compare to reference mode. The female vocal sound less thinner and fatiguing compare to reference mode.

OFF-OFF-ON
It boost the bass and also slightly on the sub bass, even with bass boost it still do not reach the bass head level. It bring the overall tonality slightly warmer in comparison to reference mode.

ON-ON-OFF
As I mentioned, If turn on the switch 1, the female vocal sound thin and instrument sound attacked and slightly sharp, and it cause fatiguing for me.
But by also turn on the switch 2, it can reduce the sharpness and attacked on the instrument, whereas the female vocal can sound more natural, it also bring tonality more warmer compare to only switch 1 on. This is my favorite mode.

Paring
The VG4 come with three different types of ear tips, I find out the blue(vocal) ear tips has similar design to the Spinfit, and it provide the best fit in this three type of ear tips, but it can cause fatiguing in the upper midrange. The white(bass), It has more harder inner core compare to blue ear tips, I find out it has more warmer and less fatiguing sound in comparison to blue ear tips.
The black ear tips are has slightly softer inner core compare to white ear tips, it has slightly warmer sound compare to blue ear tips, and it is still some where fatiguing in upper midrange. In this review I will be using the white ear tips as it is my favorite.

Overall tonality (The review will be based on my favorite ON-ON-OFF)
The VG4 has neutral and slightly bright tonality, it present well balanced and clean notes in the dark background.

Bass
The Bass is linear and close to neutral, with moderate amount of sub bass, and moderate extension and decay speed. The Bass has average impact, rumble and punch. It has above the average detail and clarity. The Bass has good level of speed and control. It is overall tight and well and well controlled bass.

Turn on the switch 3, the bass feel slightly more body and and depth, with slightly more rumble, but does not effect the punch and decay. It still has same level of detail and clarity compare to OFF position, it does not affect the speed and control as well, so if you feel bass is not enough weight and rumble on OFF position, you can turn on the switch 3.

Mids
The midrange is close to neutral and well balanced with slightly warm tuned. The low mids has moderate amount of bodies with good amount of depth presented in clear and clean manner. The upper midrange has above average transparency level, presented in realistic and lively manner. The mid range show really good levels of detail, clarity and transparency with out sound too thin or fatiguing.

Turn the switch 2 to OFF position, but leave the switch 1 on ON position, the mids sound more thinner, and it present the notes with more clarity. The lower mids sound slight less bodies compare to ON position, while the upper mids sound more lively but less natural. It also change the tonality to slightly less warmer.

Turn the switch 1 to OFF position, but leave the switch 2 on ON position, the mids has slightly less clarity compare to switch 1 on the ON position, because of the slightly warmer tuned. The lower mids sound more bodies and more emotional, while the upper mids sound fuller but slightly less lively compare to switch 1 on ON position. The only reason I like switch 1 to ON position is because of the treble, which I will mention in next section.

Treble
The treble is bright compare to other IEM I owned. It presented in smooth and highly detailed manner. The treble has good amount of sparkle and energy at the top end. It has above the average detail retrieval and clarity. It also has good amount of airiness and sparkle in the treble.

Turn the switch 1 to OFF position, the treble sound slightly less brightness and less attack on instrument compare to ON position. While the switch on ON position increase the overall clarity, and adding the additional sparkle and energy on the top end. If you enjoy treble and like some rock or jazz music I suggest you to try it. But it may cause fatiguing, that is why I like to turn both of 1 and 2 switches on.

Soundstage and imaging
It has above average depth and wide.
The imaging are really good.

Introduction
Audiosense is the company Chinese company, a lot of people are familiar with the t800, which is their flagship 8BA IEM, but today I am taking the look at AQ3, this is their first hybrid model, the driver configuration is 1DD+2BA, price of it is $190USD.

thumbnail_IMG20200124112418.jpg

Package & Accessories
The packages is simple design, it come with the black cardboard box, with the brand name and model name at front, the box is flip to open design, after opened the box, there is the big transparent storage case, the IEM and other accessories come inside it.

The accessories it come with is simple but useful. The case it come with is on the large side, it can easily fit in two IEM, the case is IPX5 waterproof, it seal well thanks to the pressure release design, inside of storage case there is rubber pad to give additional protection. The case is overall solid build with transparent design.

thumbnail_IMG_20201030_060749.jpg

Design & Build & Comfort
The design of AQ3 are small and compacts, the shell curve are smooth and well rounded, the shell are printed by 3D printer, and fully filled in with resin. It come with smoky color, with slightly transparent design. It is using carbon fiber as materials of faceplate, with the golden front brand name on left earpiece, while the model name on right earpiece. There are the vent on top of the IEM.

thumbnail_IMG20201030060917.jpg

thumbnail_IMG20201030061116.jpg

The driver in the IEM are perfect placed thank to plastic driver holder, and there is the tube for each of the driver, with total three sound bore. The Mmcx female connector do not have sign of wear and tear after I swapped few times of cable.

thumbnail_IMG20201030061244.jpg

thumbnail_IMG20201030061556.jpg

Even as I mentioned it is small and compacts, but it is still at the thick side, compare to the OH500, which is already on the thick side, but thanks to the ergonomic design, it fit OK for me, the AQ3 is not that ergonomic, but doesn’t mean it cannot fit good, thanks to the slightly angle and long nozzle, it fit well for me. The isolation is slightly above the average by using the spinfit CP100.

Conclusion
First point I want to mention, I do like it sometime, is good for listen while I enjoy my afternoon, it is overall really easy to enjoy and well balanced sound presented in laid back manner. But, not a lot of people like to purchase the IEM, that is lack in detail, clarity, imaging, separation and treble energy, airy and transparency, and cost $190USD, while you have a lot of good IEM to choose around this price range. I am looking forward for AQ7, which is the 1DD+7BA hybrid IEM. Thank you for reading, Happy Listening!

Design & Build & Comfort
The design of the OH500 is gorgeous, shell are made by resin, shell curve is really smooth and rounded, the shell is using the traditional way to made, not 3D printer. thumbnail_IMG20201025062118.jpg

The build of OH500 is solid with good build quality, There are no any gap or sharp edges between faceplate and shell. It has the resin filled in at the nozzle of the IEM to hold the component, The BA and DD driver are perfectly placed at the place, while the wire inside are neatly organized. The holes on the nozzle are perfectly drilled and divided into three sound bore for each of two compound drivers and the dynamic driver. The Mmcx female connector do not have sign of wear and tear after I swapped few times of cable.

thumbnail_IMG20201025061317.jpg

The comfort is the point I need to mention, the OH500 are on the big side and nozzle is bit short, but thanks for the ergonomics design and slightly angle nozzles it fit OK for me. The isolation is slightly above the average with white stock silicone tips.

Sound

Paring

I do find out the tips can affect the sound a lot, there are two silicone tips, black one are more shorter and with softer core, while the white one is more longer and with harder core, the black ear tips has slightly more bass quantity compare to white ear tips with more control bass. The black ear tips have more lower mids and forwards vocal than the white ears tips. The white ear tips offer slightly more treble energy and airiness compare to black ears tips. By the way, I like to pair the OH500 with IKKO CTU01 cable cable, it add bit more clarity by reduce some warm feeling. It also help to add some treble energy and midrange fullness, the sound stage is larger compare to stock cable.

@twiceboss I personally tried the M9 before, on top of my head, M9 has fuller midrange presentation but less warm compare to OH500. The vocal is definitely not dry on the OH500. The OH500 has natural and smooth midrange presentation, the lower mids has good bodies, sound emotional and warm, while the upper mids has great emphasis to it, it sound lively and slightly warm. I just take the listen of some Korean R&B and ballad track on YouTube, sound really enjoyable and tasty!! Hope it help, Just let me know if you have any other questions.

@audiofun Great review. I currently have final e5000’s which I really enjoy, am considering upping my listening game with a set of oriveti oh500’s. I have seen that you compared the e5000’s and the oh300, how would the oh500’s compare? I have noticed that there are the o400’s now as well, waiting some reviews of these to pop up as well (not sure I would like them if they have ba drivers only).

@matt audio
Apologies for my really late reply.
The E5000 and OH500 have really different tonality.
The E5000 is much warmer and thicker sounding IEMs compare to more neutral and clearer sounding OH500. The technical performance on OH500 is on a other levels as well.
