Pros: Price, terrific low end quality and quantity, natural and musical tonality, 3D soundstage, perfect fit + isolation, relaxing sound
Cons: Clear acrylic shell shows very minor flaws but Peter is improving himself day by day, instrumental separation is average considering the price
You fellas all know the Custom Art from Poland and its awesome owner Piotr (Peter) I guess at this point. He has variety of ciems and services from remolding to making custom tips for universal iems. I can say many nice things about him but if I start with that this review might be a very long one
happy_face1.gif
The subject of this review is his first ever acrylic ciem, the Ei.3. It is an inexpensive yet addicting monitor from Peter. The thought behind the design of this ciem was simply the getting the harmonies right and clean with correct tonality. Distortion is low and vibrations are smoothed. It is supposed to be relaxing, easy going, non bothering sounding ciem and I tell you, it is 100% correct. Peter did an awesome job with its tuning and created a very serious challenger in mid fi ciem while keeping the price is at only 300 bucks. As far as I know it is the cheapest ciem with 3BA 3WAY configuration.

Let's start with the design.Ei.3 has 3 balanced armatures per side and it has 3 way configuration as I mentioned earlier. My monitor came with clear acrylic shells with white and black icewood faceplates for left and right sides. I must say I am a person who likes dark and never lights up his room. That difference helps me to get the correct one in my dark room and I like it to be honest. Also they look stunning. Peter's faceplates are really getting to the top level in this industry. However though, my clear acrylic shell has very few and minor flaws. There is seriously nothing big and you have to focus to see the imperfections however as a reviewer, I must mention them I guess. Then again, they don't bother me and I love the way they look. Peter is new in this acrylic shell thingy. I am sure he will get better just like how he improved himself with silicone ciems. Fit and isolation is perfect. It is interesting though, Peter used the same ear impressions when he was using to build my Harmony 8 and the results are different, slightly but different. Ei.3 fits better and more comfortable also the fit stays undisturbed easily as opposed to H8. So let me clarify, I like both their fits and have no complaints. However somehow Ei.3 is more comfortable and its fit is harder to disturb. The H8 is silicone on the other and has its advantage on isolation, it is superior. Ei.3's isolation is better than your average acrylic ciem though, the canal section is long and it helps to reduce the outside noise by a large margin.

Each side has 2 sound tubes, one big and one small. Big one has some kind of filter but I don't know anything about the technical stuff and how to build ciems so I am not the one to talk about their effects on sound. The cable... Oh I have a nice love and hate relationship with it just like the previous Custom Art cables. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome, both on sound wise and ergonomics. However I wish the Y-Split was positioned lower. It somehow disturbs me by touching my neck and chin easily. A few quick words on the sonic of the cable compared to the some other default cables from the other manufacturers. To my ears, Custom Art's cables have very very slight emphasis on low end thus it is slightly warmer. Some other cables I had a chance to compare are mostly slightly brighter with a tiny little bit of wide soundstage. I must say though, the differences are seriously minor and you need to focus hardly to get them, if you can. Mostly you wouldn't feel much difference basically. The cable is braided and mine is in clear transparent form, which suits nicely to my ciem.

Accessories are pretty standard too, you get your 1010 Pelican Case, cleaning tool, desiccant. Nothing fancy here but it doesn't leave you wanting more. A cleaning cloth maybe? Yeah why not but I am sure I wouldn't use it. For 300 bucks you get a complete package you don't need anything else to maintain your monitors. The case is very high quality too as you know, Pelican is some kind of default case in this industry with Otterbox but Pelican is easier for me as it doesn't need bear power to be opened.

I am gonna try to explain the sound section in 3 parts as usual, bass, mids and treble. However I think I should give a short summery of it in here in advance before getting into the details. Ei.3 meant to sound big and I mean big. It is designed with EDM and rap music in mind so the emotions, smoothness, musicality and tonality were the main points. I don't think it is a detail monster or transparency king, but it does its job fairly good, never gets behind the other ciems in this price range. Its bass.. Man it made me addicted to it. You wouldn't believe this bass comes from 300 USD ciem. It is seriously good. So if you are a bass lover or generally listen to EDM, rap and what not, I guess Ei.3 would suit you incredibly good.

Bass... Well it does hit big I tell you that. Don't think it is just about the boom effect and quantity. Its quality is also something to be heard definitely. So when I say it hits big, you might think it is a basshead ciem? No way, it is not. It is quality and rumble capabilities are making you addictive not the sheer quantity. Yet it has an enhanced bass but it is not like the bass means everything in this monitor. To my ears its rumble is energetic and dynamism is just calling you to enjoy the harmony. Bass is like the generally balanced iems a little bit of boosted section. It gives you some energy, liveliness and rumble while it doesn't become the main point of the presentation. I think it is a good thing, it makes the monitor more all rounder. It has punchy kicks but it is not too fast to leave you desire more from it. It stays in the air to keep you satisfied with its rumble while not becoming over boomy to take a huge space in stage. In short, the bass section is the best part of the monitor. North of neutral but not at the bass head territory.

Midrange... Balanced, not laidback, not overly forward, just slightly lifted. It has a nice emotion when it comes to vocals. It is not mid centric and it is not creamy, organic tone that I love but it has its merits. It is smooth, it is in nice harmony with both bass section and treble. It has the relaxing signature of the monitor so easy on the ears especially for long listening sessions. Is it a detail monster? No. Is it a transparency king? No. However it was not the point of this ciem. You see, it is designed to be a non bothering, smooth sounding one and I truly believe it is successful on this. Is it a bad thing? Nope. I still think it does fairly well for a 300 bucks monitor. Long story short, the mids are balanced, has nice vocals, smooth but average when it comes to instrumental separation and transparency. Do I like it? Hell yeah cuz it suits perfectly fine with the soul of this monitor. I wouldn't make the mids more detailed even if I had a chance, it would ruin the soul and turns this ciem into something without a purpose, a lost soul.

Treble... Slightly forward, energetic and lively without ever becoming harsh or too hot. I like them, I simply like them. It has the perfect balance for me. It doesn't rape my ears with brightness or hotness but it gives me some treble without a problem. I like the tuning here. I am known as a man who can't tolerate the hot treble but Ei.3 has forward and energetic treble without becoming problematic. What can I ask more? I think the extension is above average but it is not like it goes and goes towards to 20khz (yeah I know I know how many of us hears it anyway). Still I believe you can hear the roll off. It has a natural liveliness it doesn't sound digital or metallic. Again, yes, we come to the same thing but it is one of the best things of this monitor. Tonality... Treble has an exceptional tonality. It is not the airiest or has the biggest room to breath and widens the soundstage. It does keep things balanced and doesn't do a bad job on cymbals, flickers and so on. Maybe I would say the treble notes are a little bit sticky and doesn't resolve very good, if it was 500USD+ ciem but it is not and it is again tuned perfectly for this signature.

Presentation... It is natural, focused and 3D. Size wise I think it is average, nothing too big but helps on focus and keep things energetic. Coherency and realism are good though the problem I mentioned earlier, the separation of instruments might leave you wanting more. Positioning is fine there is no problem with that and it is not like it is veiled or it is laidback you can't pick or focus on anything. That kind of presentation does things best with EDM, rap and some popular RnB. Well, you got your answer, the tuning, the idea behind this ciem.... It does its magic and just calls you enjoy and don't split the hair into two pieces.

Last words on sound section? The tuning is so clever it calls you to enjoy the music only don't bother about the every minor tiny little bit detail. How I feel like when I put them into my ears? Relaxing but not falling asleep. It is smooth but it is not "one thing best/one thing worst" type of ciem. It does everything good or great and does nothing specially bad, just average maybe. It excels in its bass capabilities to my ears and balanced tuning. Its tonality is one of the biggest strengths of it. Musicality and smoothness are just the cherries at the top of the cake. Vocals? Yeah you got them fine. I think it is a fairly good all rounder but does miracles at EDM, rap and RnB. It is balanced, has a warm bass boost and energetic treble without pushing the mids into an abyss. It even actually lifts them up very slightly and clears the vocal.

I think Peter is successful on creating what he wanted. Unless you want a detail monster ciem/iem, you can't go wrong with this one. Again, I don't think they suck at this either, it is just they are average for the price but oh boy they do a lot of things great or perfect punches way above the price point. It has an entry fi price tag on it but to my ears this ciem can be a serious challenger to the mid fi segment. It doesn't do one thing best and leave other things at bad positions, Ei.3 does everything balanced or around the borders of balanced section and becomes a nice musical monitor.

Ok get a load of this. Some days I just take Ei.3 with me and leave H8 at home. Is it better than H8, nope. However it doesn't leave me wanting more. Whatever I throw at it, it keeps the smile on my face. I just like this ciem and its tuning. It is not the highest detailed ciem, it is not the basshead unit, it doesn't call the midcentric iem lovers or treble heads. However, it does everything just good with a nice balance and a hint of warmth.

That's the review guys, I did my best to translate what my ears telling me. Hope you enjoy it and it helps you to decide if you are in a market for inexpensive ciems with nice sounds.

Pros: Warm and relaxed signature, enjoyable enveloping sound, realistic tonality
Cons: Not for treble heads, overall resolution is while great not the best
I have the Harmony 8 (H8) for a while and I thought they are really good, good enough to make me write a review about them. I had shared my initial impressions in the Custom Art thread here but they evolved and changed, mostly in positive way. It is a part of the flagship duo Piotr has now. Harmony 8 is the one I am reviewing here but Harmony 8 Pro version also reached a quite success in masses. H8Pro differs from the vanilla version with its treble performance. I personally didn't like its treble (as I am usually very sensitive to bright trebles) and went for the vanilla H8.

Well let's start with the design shall we? H8 has 8 BA per side, its a silicone made ciem and there is a detachable cable as an option too, for a small extra cost. 8 BA's configuration goes on like this: Dual Low, Dual Low-mid, Dual full-range and Dual tweeter. The design is dumper-free and receivers are vented for a better bass response. Sensitivity is 107db @1khz @0.1V and the impedance is 50 ohm @1khz. Well enough with the technological specifications, let's talk about the silicone body. As most of you know, silicone doesn't really leave much of a room for interesting design but in Poland there is a guy who can do magic. Piotr has really improved himself and the way he works with silicone. He can really create unique designs and offers variety of options; from wood, acrylic and carbon fiber faceplates to interesting transparent, semi transparent and opaque colors. Some colors are metallic and at the end we have a chance to choose from matte or glossy finish. Believe me, the finish matters a lot, with some colors and combinations, specific finish can just skyrocket how good is your ciem looking. We also have custom artwork option too for the ones who goes after it.

Continuing with the design, each side has 4 sound tubes. My cable is default, black and braided. It is pretty much the standard cable for this job and I don't have any complaints except one, the Y-Splitter is positioned a little bit high for my liking. Apart from that all is fine. My very own H8 has purple transparent body color with yellow acrylic faceplates (love the contrast here) and glossy finish overall. They look much better in hands than they do in photos. Some of my friends who own many different customs also love the looking and build quality.

For the accessories, we also get the standard package. Everything you need is here and there is nothing fancy. Pelican 1010 case, small blue zipper case, desiccant and cleaning tool. Blue zipper case is very small, I don't think I will use it, I carry my Peli 1010 everywhere with me. Cleaning tool has 2 sides, one with brush and another one with the metal wire loop. Desiccant is really nice addition and very useful, a must for every ciem owner in my humble opinion.

Fit/Finish, it is the best. Simple as that. I got many ciems from Piotr, we have shared our fair number of refits, remolds etc. I think finally we managed to build the perfection in both fit and finish. Don't get the wrong idea, my H8 has the awesome fit from the day one, but before that I also received different ciems from Piotr and they all needed refit or remold. So what is so different this time? I think Piotr would agree with me, the biggest difference is very quality ear impressions with the correct material. Once you provide it to Piotr he creates the perfect fit and isolation for you. As for the finish, this might be one of the best ciems I seen in Piotr's gallery. It is not very unique, it is actually a rather simple design but finish is very good. I can't really find a single imperfection or bubble or something like that. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

So fellas, lets jump into the sound section since it is the most important part always. In short, the sound is warm and relaxed with very high resolution and laid back presentation. I will separate this section to 4 parts, hope you enjoy it and it will be helpful.

Bass: Boom! The bass is enhanced, not like it covers the entire spectrum but quite enhanced. Mid bass is a little bit more enhanced than the sub bass. It creates the nice feeling especially with the bass heavy tracks, I can assure you, your ears gonna like it, oh they are gonna like it a lot. I don't find them very quick but they are definitely not slow either. It is punch and layering is wonderful. Details and textures are presented in a way that you fall in love with the bass presentation of this ciem. It has one of the best quality I heard in the bass section, despite the punch and enhanced quantity. So that's saying something, believe me. Why it has such a high quality you might ask? Well, it has the perfect control over the notes and its tonality is very realistic. Ability to show the different textures and layers in sound is just addicting. Also, despite the warm signature, the resolution is very high in this segment. So the bass is, punchy and powerful, extremely revealing and has awesome tonality. Be warned though, this is not a pure bass head ciem and keep in mind that, this level of high resolution can show the flaws of the tracks that you didn't hear with your other monitors. The bass definitely got an excellent point from me.

Midrange: It is also warm and slightly dark. Tonality is still superb, layering and depth just embraces you. The overall signature is neutral and natural. It is not upfront in your face. Detail levels are at the highest league no doubt, just slightly sitting behind SE5way ref. However they differ in presentation of midrange a lot. SE5way ref has in your face highly organic and very rich mids. H8 just takes things in more relaxed way. It still shows the details it still recreates the layers and depth, it still gives you the warm colored but full of micro details midrange. It just doesn't bring it very front, instead you just gotta relax and listen to it. You will feel that all those details, all those layers will embrace you into it and you are getting a special treatment. Isn't it just a surprise? I mean look at that, we have warm and colored midrange (though the tonality is very realistic), it is laid back, it is friends with relaxed treble which I will come in a minute..... And it still creates very high levels of detail with incredible layered, deep presentation. It is hard to achieve that in my experience but Piotr got it. I wouldn't say the midrange got an excellent point from me, but it is pretty darn close to it.

Treble: Silky smooth. Yup that's it. It is definitely relaxed and laid back. I would even call it dark-ish. Don't make this fool you though, it doesn't mean it lacks the details and air. It has the details, though maybe not the most detailed treble I heard. There is a fair amount of air between the instruments and the general layering is quite large with 3D feeling. Coherence between the midrange is specially awesome. There is no sharpness here, the treble is not bright nor ear piercing. So if you wanna sparkling treble, you might go for the H8Pro variant though I myself find its tonality a bit off. I prefer this realistic note recreation without the bright treble. I can listen to them for straight 6 hours without feeling a bit of tiredness. There is not much to say, it has the dark perfection. Without hurting my ears, it has a very high level of details, air and coherence. I think without making it brighter, things wouldn't go much better here.

Presentation: Despite being a dark monitor, it is very big and 3D. It is laid back so it doesn't bring you to first row, right in front of the singer. Presentation is neutral, it is very big, but not the biggest. Instrument separation is also very close to the top of the chart. Air? There is enough to feel the music lively and not congested. This is a big success considering the dark signature. What I like most about presentation is there is an exceptional embracing feeling that you live the music, rather than listen to it. I mean, the every small thing; like beyond excellent bass, laid back mids and treble and their coherence, warm but full of details note recreation, relaxed and not focus oriented signature.... All of them mixes in such a way that whenever I put the H8 in my ears, I just forget about them. Yeah I forget about them and I just lose myself in the music. The music calls me, the harmony calls me. I get surrounded by it and just give myself to it. I am pretty sure, if you change a single aspect of this monitor, this feeling would be lost. It is a very special, not seen in every monitor feeling. I am glad, I have H8 with me, cuz whenever I just want to lose myself and don't think about the problems in real life, it I put them in my ears and magic happens. The presentation has a big role in it cuz it is big enough to make you feel it is not congested but it doesn't lack the focus either. It is in perfect balance in short. Very large and very big soundstages usually have a problem with focus. I am not sure it is a good idea to give other products name here but if you ask me in PM I can give you a few names.

So my journey with H8 continues as I am falling in love with them more and more every day. Exceptional imagining, enveloping musical presentation, beyond this world bass quality and very, very good midrange and treble H8 just shows you don't need to be astronomically expensive in order to be a good ciem. Just put them in your ears and let magic controls your body, flows in your veins. Yup, they are that good.

Since we are talking about custom in ear monitors, I should talk about customer service too it is equally important in this industry. You can create a good product but if you leave your customers unsatisfied and/or unhappy, things are not going to be good and smooth for you. Well most of you know Piotr and how awesome he is. To me, he created new page in customer service standards. He brought the level so darn high, I am not sure how many other companies would be able to follow it is lead. As I wrote before, I got quite many different ciems from Piotr (custom tuned unique project etc etc) and we probably talked via email more than thousand times easily. What can I say? The man turn out to be a prophet or something. He is extremely helpful, always offers new and different choices, always polite and kind, brings surprises to the table. I mean I can't write how awesome he is here or this review won't be finished in 3 hours at least. What I can say is, just go buy one of his products, the one that suits your preferences most. You won't be disappointed, I can give you my word.

That's my review of H8 folks, hope you all enjoy it. I would say if the sound signature suits you, go for it. It is seriously awesome.

Thanks dulty. Yeah I definitely love them, they have a very relaxing sound without losing from transparency. One of my favorite tunings in the iem business :) Also that bass quality, man this layering capability is something should be heard.

Pros: Balanced sound, connections between lows-mids-highs, inexpensive, beyond excellent custom service, fit + finish
Cons: A little more bass rumble could be good, dynamics are lacking compared to higher end models
I have Music One for a while now, I already wrote some impressions in the Custom Art thread in here. So I decided to combine them and do a proper review. It is a little gem that punches way above its price point, so definitely deserves a review in my view.

Starting with the design. Single BA per side, silicone earpieces, permanent or optional detachable cable (with a little extra cost). Mine uses the detachable system. It is an industry standard 2 pins configuration so if you are willing to use any aftermarket cable, it is not gonna be a problem for you. Also I should add the earpieces have horn nozzle system. You can choose between black, clear and white cable options. I chose the white and it is not braided but it is quite user friendly. The memory wire part is very soft and up to some point you can bend and give it a shape. It is nice. Though I have one small complain, the Y splitter is positioned pretty high, I wish it was a bit lower. It stays very close to my chin/face. Most of the time I keep the cable behind my head, next to my back so it is not a problem but sometimes I use the monitors with my computer and I let the cables go straight down behind my ear, in this case the Y splitter feels very close to me. Apart from that, I have no issues. The cable looks durable too, so all and all, no big problems here.

Accessories, you get a 1010 Pelican case, which is practically indestructible, a very small zipper case (blue), desiccant and cleaning tool. The desiccant is a nice addition, I didn't receive it with my SE5way purchase from Spiral Ear, which is something like 10 times more expensive product. The cleaning tool has 2 sides, one with the brush and one with the metal wire. As for the blue zipper case, man it is quite tiny and I am not sure I would use it. It is a nice addition but in order to put the earpieces and cables in it I would spend clean 5 minutes I guess. So Peli case is way to go for me.

Fit / Finish, well obviously your fit depends on how good were your ear impressions. Turned out my impressions were pretty good. My left ear has a fit like glove, perfect. Not tight, not loose. I wished a little bit tighter because silicone is forgiving and it doesn't cause any discomfort but now I am happy with it and I don't think I will ask for a refit. The right ear has a tight seal, which I prefer. For me, it couldn't get any better than that. Thanks to the forgiving nature of silicone, I don't have any discomfort and I get a perfect isolation. Compared to my old SE5way (which I had fit issues and now it is being remolded by Peter) my fit is absolutely perfect. Finish is also good. I choose special colors, lime metallic for the left and claret violet for the right. While I like the colors, one thing I would suggest you to do is, ask Peter if he made any ciem with the colors you are interested in because the real colors are a little different from the colors you see in the website. This is of course understandable so in order to avoid surprises, you can contact and ask Peter to see what they look like in real life.

Now, the sound section, which is why we are making all the fuss about audio gears
happy_face1.gif
I am happy to report, the sound is extremely nice, considering it is a single BA design and very inexpensive monitor. I will separate this section into 4 part, bass-mids-highs and presentation.

Bass: Very linear, it goes pretty deep, sometimes lacks the dynamics and power but let's you feel some things are happening in the low region. We have a clean bass here, it doesn't kick like a mule but it is not bass shy either. If you are listening to bass heavy tracks, sometimes you wish for a bit more deep rumble from these little gems but for the rest, I believe the bass should be satisfying. Bass extension is good, maybe not perfect but it can reach quite deep. So, to put it simply, you get a nice, clean, linear, deep bass. It is not on the bass heavy level but it should be more than enough for many of us. Peter did a very good job tuning the bass in this monitors because considering they have only one balanced armature to handle all frequencies.

Midrange: Oh boy, this is the best part of Music One. Mids are forward. It has an exceptional balance. The thickness vs clarity is set in a very good point. You get rich mids but don't lose from the details or clarity. It is not overly bright or overly warm. The tonal balance is good, the naturalness of the sound is very impressive. Being a mid centric monitor, they really create the music with emotion in here. Definitely the shining part of the presentation. What I like most about the mids is, the passages where you link the lows to mids and the mids to the highs are beautifully done. Again, a wonderful tuning here. Getting this midrange in this pricepoint, I take my hat off in front Peter. In summary, exceptional balance, emotional, forward, clean and detailed midrange.

Treble: Surprise surprise! The treble definitely caught me off guard. I am a person with a problematic treble hearing. I am quite sensitive to it and anything that goes hot, ear raping, very bright is completely turn off for me. Good news is, I am very happy with the treble in Music One. It has a slightly, very slightly bright character but in a very polite way. Never gets fatiguing and never becomes disturbing. The best part is, the note decay is awesome, treble sounds extremely natural to my ears. Very, very enjoyable character in here. Like the rest of the spectrum, the beautiful balance and emotional presentation are also here. You get a little bit sparkly flavor and some air in between the instruments. I couldn't detect big peaks or dips in here, so another success for Music One. In summary the treble is musical, natural, detailed, airy and balanced. It doesn't disturb my ears at all, instead it just lets me enjoy the music.

I was expecting mids to become the best part of the show but treble definitely caught me by surprise. I am in love with it. Very musical and very enjoyable without going hard on my ears.

Presentation: Let's be honest from the beginning. We don't have the largest presentation in here. It has a touch more depth than its width. So the presentation is lively, 3D. The whole spectrum is balanced in here. From a single BA, we are talking about a hell of a tuning in here. Mids are forward, it blends perfectly with the lows and the highs. Those combinations are so lovely. Transparency is not excellent but note weight and note decay are definitely perfect. You wouldn't expect it from one BA. Sometimes I ask myself, is it really a single BA design
happy_face1.gif
There are shortcomings too unfortunately. Music One might not be your best shot against fast paced, complex musics. I am not saying it is doing a bad job but you feel that things could be better. It lacks the dynamics. Of course considering the price, I don't expect it to perform like multi-BA design or well tuned dynamic drivers. It doesn't sound congested or muddy, it just makes the music more simple with complex tracks. Good news is, tuning is perfect with this product. The emotional sound can match against hundreds of euros more expensive products. From musicality point of view, I can't find any single shortcoming here.

In summary; Music One doesn't only recreate the audio, it gives an emotion to it, which is something that many high end products are missing. It has a balanced signature, perfect combination of frequencies, musical presentation, 3D soundstage, detailed and mid centric. When you put it in your ears and turn the music on, you can feel that the ciems are just calling you to chill and enjoy the music it reproduces.

This is my journey with Music One so far. As you can see, I am really enjoying it and it is surprised that how a single BA, inexpensive monitors can sound that good. From the value point of you, we might be looking at the bargain of the ciem history.

Last but not least, I should talk about the customer service. As we all know, especially in custom-iems the customer service is very important. Again, I am happy to report that Peter does an outstanding job here. I mean, there is no single point that I wish it was better. It is already at the top point. I can't recommend him enough. He is extremely helpful, listening and understanding your questions. Giving you detailed answers and more than one solutions. Always offers new options and provide new opportunities. Heck, we exchanged hundreds of emails, I changed my ciems design countless times, he always responded politely and nicely. I am a person who can't decide easily when there are multiple options. Well, thank you so much Peter for bearing it with me and always being so understanding as well as polite. You earned more than a customer. Great review thanks AmberOzL. I'd decided to buy these after reading online forums and especially the headphone list link (provided above) - I have sent my impressions to Piotr and have several interactions with him via Email and he has been very understanding and helpful.

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Sound, price, life time warranty, easy to mod
Cons: Design (clip-on system), relatively cheap build material, due to clip-on system comfort issues
They have good old fun sound signature, very engaging and very dynamic. I found mids are a bit too recessed for my tastes and affected by the low region unfortunately however from a cheap can like this, I don't expect the separation of HD800 obviously. Treble is nice, sparkling very detailed and crisp. Bass could be more controlled but it does its job, it has a strong, punchy bass and when the song calls for it, it knows how to give 'boom' effect.

So what do we have here? Very good sounding on ear headphones which can easily compete against 100 euro price range. Is there a problem, you bet! Some people seem to like the design and clip system but I totally hated it. I am currently looking for a chance to make a headband mod otherwise it is too painful for me to wear it longer than 20 minutes. Also I keep on playing with the clip because it doesn't fit correctly and keeps on moving around. Design-wise, unfortunately they are failed in my experience.

At this point, you probably know that they are open back cans, so they don't isolate and they leak sound quite a lot. If you want to hear your surroundings, that's good for you but pay attention, you might disturb people around you.

They are also easy to mod, I saw already Kramer mod and headband mod. If I can do the headband mod (looking for a headband donor cheapo headphone) I will continue with the Kramer mod too.

Also, they might need a little bit more power than your usual average consumer targeted iems/headphones.

I have problems with comfort but I like the sound, I will try to mod them to keep it, otherwise no go for me. I bought these ones to use in gym not as a main headphone and for 15 euros, I think they punch way above their price. However, if I fail modding, probably I am gonna order PX100-II to use at gym.

So if you are looking for can to use in the gym or outside running they are good. Also if your budget is tight, I can still recommend them since they are kind of giant killers. Just be sure that you can handle the clip system or do a headband mod.

Pros: Literally everything about it.
Cons: For a comfortable use you have to get used to it but then it is wonderful.
Don't forget that also when you purchase them from German MAESTRO online shop, you can get a 'free' cable or jack modification done by German MAESTRO itself.

Best money ever spent in my whole life. For the ones who wants neutral sound and closed acoustic, you can not get better than these HPs. Also I assure you, these headphones would survive judgment day. Buy it and your grandson will use it years and years later. Now they become signature of me, wherever I go, they are with me.

Ps: I will improve this review but nowadays I am incredibly busy with my master exams. In February I will try to give a more detailed review with the photos I will take.

about m50s, I think everybody knows that they are not actually monitor headphones, they are wonderful fun headphones but not flat sounding, they are so colorful for me. great for fun and for specific genres but not my taste. I didnt add it into the list cuz I tried them only like 30 mins from my friend.

What do you mean with cable or jack modification?
Can you get the cable removable?

I didn't ask for a removable cable mod, you have to contact them to learn it. But if you send them your cable (one sided) they can put it on the headphone. Also you can choose between straight or cailed cable with the length you want. You can choose the jack, too. Right angled or straight it is up to you, both of them comes with a 6.3mm adapter.
