The Elrog 5U4G is like a lightbulb. A bit annoying. My KR died on me at some point, definitely some reliablity issues. Found more differences with the 2A3 tubes. Still happy with my Acmes.

@jimWA @ogodei What speakers are you using with the Stellaris Special and how has your experience been so far? Thinking of building a nearfield/headphone system around a SSpecial for a small home office room (12 sqm / 130 square feet).

Apologies for the laziness but is there a consensus on what minimum level of amping is needed for the Susvara? Are the DNA amps at least a decent fit? Thinking of getting a Susvara but don't have space for another amp other than the DNA Stellaris.

I suggest modding your HD650 (google for HD650 KISS mod). Very easy to do even without DIY experience. Gives a quite noticeable improvement, i.e. equal or slightly bigger than the biggest tube differences.

The Stellaris won't change the fundamental nature of the headphones. I liked neither the hd800 nor Focal Stellia, both too bright. Both are technically superb, but I couldn't listen to them for more than 30min. Eq helps. I have yet to find something that is truly superior to the hd650 in all...

My favorite thing about the Morpheus so far is the remote. Solid metal, beautiful finish, super convenient volume control (!). Sounds nice, too.
