I hate not being able to make a decision... (GS1k vs. HD650)

I own both the GS1000s and HD650s, but I prefer the Grados. The sound is much more detailed IMO, and they work really well with low-volume listening.

    best blues/jazz electric guitar albums

I like John Abercrombie's "Timeless" with Jan Hammer and Jack DeJohnette. It's not a traditional jazz album, but interesting in many ways.

    Classical Recomendations?

My first encounter with classical music was Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor. It is not complicated and very beautiful IMO. From there try Beethoven's and Sibelius' symphonies.

    Beethoven's Piano Sonatas

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Paul Lewis' complete cycle of the sonates. All the four volumes has been an editor's choice in Gramophone, and I own three of them. I have Goode's cycle, but for better sound and for a more modern approach to the music I warmly recommend Lewis' readings.
