I would say that this is the case makers error. They are the ones who determine where each of the connectors are earthed. In choosing to have a shared earth, they introduce the interference noise.

If you visit amazon.com in the next few days you can grab yourself a pair of denon ah-c551's for under $60.00 (which is a bargain by the way). I have been researching for ages which pair to get and they come highly recommended. Tight bass, good mids and fairly good highs. Hope this helps
