Thought I'd give one last update incase anyone reads this in the future. Worked up the courage to open up my Senns and found that the driver was knocked loose, just had to slide it back into place and it works perfectly

I know its not the cable because I have blue dragon cable I received new today that has the same problem. After 'fiddling' with the connection (pretty much just putting a little pressure on it) it seems to be doing better and I am able to listen to music. It is by no means a permanent solution...

Any helpful advice would be appreciated.. I finally replaced my stock cable thinking it was the problem and now I have a wonderful cable with the very annoying problem of not being able to listen to a cd properly.
