Looking for Head-Fi Members in the Nashville / Middle Tennessee / North Alabama / Kentucky area
I get back to school in Nashville late August, I'd love to attend though! Depending on the date, I'll have either one pair headphones/amp, or 3 amps, a pair of custom speakers, a dac, and a pair of headphones (I have to build them first). -
recommend a DIY amp for HD650
The consensus seems to be that the B22 is a damn fine amp for the HD650s, but how does the Bijou compare? I'm in a similar situation as the OP, but I also have a pair of Grados that I feel might benefit more from tubes than SS so it's a toss up- Dr Evil Dan

Pipe-Fi!
The best pipe I've ever smoked was of the unvarnished corncob type. But, then again, I am only 18 so that statement should be taken with the knowledge that I don't know diddly-dick! P.S. Peter Stokkebye is the man- Dr Evil Dan

What do you think about artists who add record crackling noises to tracks?
Portishead does it all the time, and I think it fits because Portishead is the kind of band whose albums you get on LP not CD. Basically I'm saying it is permissible but only for certain bands.- Dr Evil Dan

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
as it says on the bottom of PMillet's starving student page, these can handle everything from low impedance grados to high impedance sennheisers, to the very difficult-to-drive AKG K1000s.- Dr Evil Dan

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
I redid the woodwork on my amp, and also rewired the insides. It attracts dust like no other, but it looks and sounds much better. I haven't bothered to attach the bottom plate yet, and STILL no volume knob! :\ I realize it is kinda dusty - its probably just static or something...- Dr Evil Dan

New Computer Build Need Thoughts.
I prefer PC power & cooling, but OCZ is good as well. Also, I would go for the MSI X58 mobo, it has better reviews (and I have an MSI thats basically been running nonstop for a year without a hiccup). The rest looks perfect if you aren't willing to shell out for a 4870x2 or a GTX 295- Dr Evil Dan
