    SONY IER-Z1R

I felt the same way at first, when I pulled the trigger on the Z1R, it had already been around for four years. But I'm glad I went for it. The Z1R still holds the crown as my favorite IEM. I don't know when Sony will drop their next big thing, and even if they do, there's no guarantee I'll like...

My Z1R was produced just last year, so I don’t think it’s discontinued.

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Now that makes sense, the pictures I looked at must've been darker so the colour appeared brown / copper. I actually bought a fake case for my IE200 and it's copper, I always thought it was the original colour.

maybe i'm mistaken but i'm sure the original case was brown or copper too, it's strange that the fakes makers haven't updated it

I bought mine directly from Sennheiser and these look good to me. But it’s hard to tell these days

I was afraid to remove the foam because it seemed to be glued to something inside when I tried.

    SONY IER-Z1R

1000 pages of discussion for 1 IEM and new owners still keep coming. The Z1R has the best staying power.

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Same here, I also have both. The IE600 is well rounded and "safer", but it doesn't reach the height of the IE900. However they complement each other very well and it's not redundant to own both in my opinion.

    SONY IER-Z1R

True, i have the IE900 too. Excellent bass, a bit behind Z1R but i can take it outside due to how small and comfortable it is.

    SONY IER-Z1R

I don't know about the MDR-Z1R, been wanting to try, but I used to have the TH900, which is often said to have endgame-level bass for headphones. It's hard to compare because the experiences are different. The TH900 also has excellent depth and texture like the Z1R. The biggest difference for me...

    Earbuds Round-Up

Yeah I didn't expect the Alpha 3 to come close to FF3's bass anyway, was just looking for a neutral and musical pair of earbuds, and the Alpha 3 do just that. It's only been a few days though.

    Earbuds Round-Up

Finally got the Dunu Alpha 3, my second high quality earbuds. My other set is the Fiio FF3 which I’ve had for over a year. Build quality is very good, I think it looks classier than the FF3. Overall sound presentation is more neutral and balanced than the warmer FF3, but it can’t match the FF3’s...

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)

Very nice, wouldn't call them basshead since they don't have a huge amount of bass, but the bass quality is excellent and they slam harder than some basshead IEMs that i've tried.

    SONY IER-Z1R

Is it really that hard to get the stock cables ? I see a lot of websites that sell genuine Sony parts and I get my tips from one of them. Cables are always in stock and fairly affordable too.

    SONY IER-Z1R

Same. No IEMs are perfect for all music. I also have both the M9 and Z1R and they have their own strengths. M9 are a great all rounder, Z1R are spacious and energetic. They complement each other very well.

    Earbuds Round-Up

Does anyone have both the FF3 and Alpha 3, how do they compare ? I'm mainly an IEM person but I've had the FF3 for more than a year and they're just wonderful. Seeing a lot of positive reviews on the Alpha 3, makes me want to get one since they're on sale where I live.

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

I have the Z1R, sound amazing, my number 1 IEM, but forget about taking them outside. The fit is actually not that bad, but they're heavy and won't stay in your ears if you keep moving. I also have the IE900 which have a similar sound signature and are way better suited for use outside due to...

    SONY IER-Z1R

I recently got the Sennheiser IE900 during the sales to bring with me to work. They're still a bit expensive to take outside though. Sound wise they're also a bass & treble focused IEM, a bit more v shaped than Z1R. Very good set, they don't sound wide and big like Z1R, but they have the...

Reply to review by 'thang3291' on item 'Sennheiser IE 900'

The IE900 doesn't use the same case as the IE600 at all. I have both, purchased directly from Sennheiser. The new case is also black, but has different material, and there's a small metal serial number plate in the back like the old copper case. I'd check with Sennheiser to verify the...

Sony IER-Z1R ? I have both and they have similar sounds and simply amazing bass. They're nowhere near as comfortable but I haven't heard any QC issues with them. I'm kind of worried about my 900 after reading a few posts here, just got them not so long ago.

Latest improvement for my Z1R portable setup is the RU7, impressive little thing. Probably stick with this combo for a while until I can afford the Sony DAP.

Exceptional in Every Detail: Say Hello to the IE 600

Just got mine during the sale, was a bit worry about the treble energy but surprisingly it never crosses the line for me. Very energetic and fun set. Stock tips are honestly not that bad but I will be testing with other tips soon.

    SONY IER-Z1R

Yeah true. More bass doesn't mean better bass. It really depends on what you're looking for. After trying a few bass cannon iems, I realized i'm not much of a basshead, the overpowering amount of bass gets old pretty quickly for me. Z1R strike a perfect balance for my taste
