There aren't many reviews out there about these "IEMs" and most of them aren't that critical. It would be great if you could spare your timing for these niche...

Actually, there's only one iem that I can think of with 5/10 that is able to get to 7 with EQ bands and another one if you don't factor in the cost as getting a 7/10 from Precog is pretty difficult even for flagships (almost impossible for midrange).Just my 2c. 🤣

Mind you, resolution and dynamic, most of those high end stuffs are very resolving and have good dynamic. Those few EQ bands might help boost a 5/10 to 6 or at most 7, but they won't make it sound as good as that 2000$ iem.

@Precogvision, do happen to get your hands on the Dita Dream? I heard that it's one of the stronger contenders in technical department (at least as a DD) though the tuning might put off a lot of people. I'm eager to hear your impression on this iem.

It is not top of the line any more, but still, bass texture and such resolution is always praise worthy, considering how mediocre most mid-fi iem are in that regard.

It was one of the most technical performance as a single DD and still is today, surpasing the Xelento and compete directly with the Luna and this IE900.

No, only EQ can handle that montrosity.

Well, I think you should also look at Sony MDR-EX1000, one of the more capable single DD out there, one can get it for 350$ at the moment. Don't expect good tuning tho, huge peak in the upper mid. Kind of like Luna.

Considering how mediocre Audeze's iems' dynamic are, I don't think you should hold high hope for that one.

That's great to hear. I tend to give credit too much for things that describe intangibles stuff, so that's on me.

@Precogvision, according to what you described, an iem with smaller soundstage will sound "clearer" than the one with bigger, more opened soundstage, assuming that they have the same detail score and tuning choice, is it so? Because that's the case of the iSine 20 and Moondrop S8.

It seems really hard for an iem to sound both detailed and dynamic, there're only 5 of them on the list and all are flagships, not to mention 3 of them are from 64 Audio!

You know something is wrong when a mid-fi iem trade blows with a lot of flagships in terms of technical performance (The iSine 20). I guess that's the power of one trick pony and now I know why some tracks lack impact to my ears.

I did mention that they cannot compete against flagship DAP, so you couldn't be more correct.

What about sound quality? Do they match up with DAP What about sound quality? As I use android phone, I face much fewer problems with these devices than with iPhone.

Guys, what's your thought about... dongles? Some people regard them as being inferior to DAP in general (excluding those kilobucks TOTL) and excuse me for my ignorance, but wouldn't a well calibrated dongle with enough power sound as good as a DAP with many times its cost?

Speaking of the LCD-i4, do you plan to have any impression on its brothers the iSine 20/10? I wonder whether they can compete with the top dog in resolution.

I mean, from what you described, the KS1500 seems as it's league above the top contenders for technicality, which is really hard to further improve once you have such capability.
