Here's another freshly minted build for the crackheads out there (with speedball upgrade) I used locally rough cut oak and planed it myself so that I could achieve this effect with the grain. Also used enamel paint with automotive catalytic clear coat and finished with multistage wet sanding...

Hey all. I really enjoy my HD-6xxs for the most part, however the biggest fault for me is that they are pretty weak in sub-bass. Anybody know of anything mostly similar in sound but more sub-bass? Looking for new or used under $700.00. Appreciate it.

I think going to the 560s will be too similar to the 6xx to justify the price. However I think the Sundara would be an excellent choice if you'd like a different sound signature.

What tubes did it initially call me with? You had said one of the tubes was missing when you got it. If you have a set for one of the channels (or one preamp and one main) tube that it originally came with you might try using the old set in one channel and a new set in the other. Then you can...

Oh one more thing, there is a service called soundiiz that transfers your playlists etc between platforms. Its not the most straightforward app but works. Its 4.50 a month and you can just sign up for one month, get everything transferred over, then cancel. Sure beats spending hours typing...
