Recommendations for $50 IEMs
Time to post in a 3 year old thread yay. About a year ago I got my hands on EX15 (mom found it on the ground somewhere and they sounded decent but the tips were a size too small). Then i purchased a unit myself but every unit (I tried and returned 4, one separately, one where I bought three in...- visor

Cool, thanks. Are the acoustic damping properties of these the same or comparable and it's just the material that's different?- visor

Where can I, at present buy extra dampers/filters for Olina? I use double damper mod myself and that way it's basically perfect but I want spares. Would be even better if I could get ones that fit the nozzle but don't need to be stacked.- visor

Olina HT EQ. For me quite an improvement, curious about others. And another with tamer upper end.- visor

7hz Timeless vs Moondrop Blessing 2
Timeless sounds clean and very laidback and distortion-free in its sound reproduction. But the tuning out of the box ain't quite there. Bloated mid-bass as the shelf starts dropping too late, some elevation in the mids (2300hz) which gives el guitars, vocals and whatever else sits there an...- visor

So, some days ago I suddenly lost the urge to EQ everything and am now totally happy with how Timeless sounds just plugged into my phone. Funny that.- visor

So I've been comparing Timeless, Starfield and ER2SE (all EQ'd to Harman because that's just how I like it). And while I'd say ER2SE isn't far behind in detail retrieval, Timeless does it with much more ease — on my ears, lol. It's like both Starfield and ERSE, when I heard different elements...- visor

Etymotic ER2SE - A Reference Headphone for your Ears and Your Couplers
So idk where else to post I will do so here. I've had my ER2SE for about a month or so now and I find minimal bass least of an issue. The eargain region starts too soon and then treble is recessed which overemphasizes 1-3k. Is that at all affected by insertion depth? I mean I can only insert...- visor

Yeah, but his measurement rig isn't necessarily what you will hear. It seems to be very accurate for the most part but apparently it can't account for everything. His shows a dip and a massive spike at 8k my ears are fine with 8k but say 6600-7500 (or 7k for short) is quite loud and a dip helps...- visor

Also here is an excellent EQ from Oratory1990, I only added the last filter to tame sibilance when it appears (which is rare so the filter is optional).- visor

I recorded it with a Sony MDR-EX15AP inline mic (I placed the end of eartips flat against the mic opening and gently helding it), first Etymotic ER2SE (no eq, no sharpness) second is Timeless (no eq, audible sharpness). Obviously the sound profile doesn't sound like my ears (but also isn't...- visor

Just so you know, I'm updating this a bit @Illbetheone Ok, 'My Immortal' by Evanescence: - Everything's sounds clean but that's not exactly an achievement because it's not what I'd consider a demanding song. - Tonality is wrong though: - Heavy strings and piano are blending together - the body...- visor

Both tracks sound good. Note. Because Timeless has elevated mids (2k) body of the vocals and whatever else falls into that range sound a tiny bit cuppy (or plasticky or flat, Fiio FH3 really bad in that department). I'd also like to add that the combination of elevated mid-bass and less so mids...- visor

Ok so the issue is likely song specific so I'm probably obsessing over a minor thing but I will have to see. But again, ER2SE and HD560S have no discernible sharp "sh" EQ or not. I also ordered a new cable for it so I hope it stays because I really like it otherwise.- visor

I found it for sure by putting a high-pass filter on at like 5k and make sure it was flat (providing no boost), then I took a narrow peak filter and scanned from 6-7k and that's how I found it but I also heard someone else mention it before (might've been Metal571 in a podcast). Most music I...- visor
