Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
I used the d8000 pro the following: IFI IDSD signature, Hugo 2, SMSL SP200, FiiO Q5s, Burson Conductor 3x, iPhone dongle, Xi Audio Formula S. My honest feedback is that the D8000pro are not really very amp dependant. My favourite combination is just straight out of the Hugo 2, surprisingly they...- Headbander

Testing audiophile claims and myths
Do you mean when charging or when operating on battery. There shouldn't be grounding issues when on batteries- Headbander

Hifiman Ananda
Does the Diablo work with the Ananda on medium setting or you need to use in high sensitivity mode? I had a an ifi IDSD micro signature which sounded very nice on medium and turbo but was annoying due to the volume imbalance at low volumes therefore I was using it most of the time on low power...- Headbander

That’s interesting i felt the sound stage was way larger on the 009s. I agree about the comfort altought I personally don’t mind the fit of the Final. It is very personal however- Headbander

I have never tried the Dianas so I can’t compare. I wrote about my comparison with the 1266 TC earlier in this thread. However, I can compare to the stax 009s which I have owned for a while. The details are very similar. Soundstage is better on the stax but bass is sooo much better on the...- Headbander

I own both cans so I can compare. Detail retrieval is similar but the presentation is different. Slightly better on Abyss but not by much at all. Treble is more pronounced on the Abyss so you have the impression of more details. When I listen to the abyss I hear more reverb on female vocal track...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
You can pretty much power it from anything. I use a Hugo 2 and a Fiio Q5Sc however they can be driven equally well by my iphone with the apple dongle or my Mac headphone Jack. In my view they don’t really need anything special to be driven adequately. To be honest with you, the difference...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
You cannot drive the Abyss 1266 with a phone and due to their shape you cannot use them lying down as you will not be able to get the seal. They have no clamping force and they effectively just lie on top of your head. You adjust them by narrowing or enlarging the headband. I guess, if you...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
To be honest I don’t have any issue in listening to the D8Kpro while lying in bed, I often do it to fall asleep. They are also very easy to drive so you can plug them into a portable source (I use a Hugo2) or an iPhone (blasphemy but the sound quality is not really miles away off). You certainly...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
You can expect more volume from the amp but not better sound. Obviously, it really depends on the amp as potentially you could get some better noise insulation. I wouldn’t personally invest in the upgrade unless you are willing to shell out a very substantial amount of money and getting the...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
I agree that the soundstage on the D8000pro is on the narrower side of things. Or at least the layering is not as wide. This is compared to an Arya for instance which is extremely wide and textured. Having said that I find it “correct”. When listening to an orchestra for example (I like the...- Headbander

Final Audio D8000 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Hello, do we have any update on the bass rattling situation when used with the blade runner soundtrack? I am referring specifically to the PRO version. It looks like there are at least 3 cases in the forum. It would be extremely useful if everyone tests it and respond with either a YES or NO so...- Headbander
