Jason’s responses in Schiit Happened are disheartening. As far as he’s concerned, failures are within tolerance. He’s essentially blaming it on shipping. Cold comfort.

The brisk, light-hearted response is professional but not empathetic. Particularly as shipping issues, which may or may not be the cause, are utterly outside your customer’s control — not to mention a risk for the customer that won’t go away.

On the other hand , the DAC is functioning properly. No opinions on sound, but I’ve got it working with my only other desktop amp, a Darkvoice. So cords are fine, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. Turning it on and off, trying it with and without tube, didn’t help. I was able to pull at the bottom very slightly and got the stuck button to move slightly, but that didn’t translate to functionality there or anywhere else.
