Stax SR-009 - Which DAC? Hugo 2 or RME?
Thanks all, unfortunately, the Metrum Pavane and MScaler are $5K items - twice the cost of a Hugo 2 and beyond my budget.- nycenglish

Stax SR-009 - Which DAC? Hugo 2 or RME?
Hi all, I've noticed many Stax owners loving the Hugo 2, and lately also many loving the RME ADI-2. The RME is cheaper of course but I could swing a Hugo 2 if needed but I'd like to understand what is drawing people to these two DACS. I'm in the market for a new DAC just for headphones (USB...- nycenglish

Music Streamer Recommendation
What kind of budget are you comfortable with? The options for high-quality streamers are plentiful, Auralic, Lumin, Sonore, and SOtM are the usual suspects and aren't servers with ripping abilities like the Nucleus and Innuos.- nycenglish

Yes, I def agree with this - a great DAC has less impact if the outputs aren't up to spec.- nycenglish

Desktop setup for LCD-3
Tanks HBen - the Taurus is something I've been reading about and ppl seem to love it. Same for the Schiit, but unfortunately, that DAC is too wide for my space. :frowning2:- nycenglish

Compact LCD-3 Set Up
I asked this question in the General Help section but didn't get a lot of responses so... I'd like to set up a compact (no more than 12" wide) desktop headphone system in my home office to drive my LCD-3s. My main speaker system comprises of a Pass power amp, PS Audio BHK pre, PS Audio DSD...- nycenglish

Desktop setup for LCD-3
Thanks for the reply ProtegeManiac. Can you expand on why you recommend those amps? I don't believe the Corda contain a DAC so that would be an additional box and cable to contend with. Given the source is USB, whatever DAC I used would need a good USB implementation.- nycenglish

My regular speaker system comprises of a Pass power amp, PS Audio BHK pre, PS Audio DSD DAC, and Merlin VSM speakers. For those familiar with these components, you'll...- nycenglish
