Home-Made IEMs
@TOBIJampar : The only one variable capacitor i found has only a few pico range... used to for very accurate filters. I'm using only variable resistor like the one @Wgibson say, but in smd format (the same which is used by many actual known brands). It provide the hability to change values...- MTroy

acrylic vs silicon housing for custom iem?
Thanks, this is interesting. it's smaller that i imagined. In fact each dd is encapsed inside an hardened acoustic chamber. I was more on thinking about using the whole shell as a chamber. But indeed they use the better solution. - I found nothing about drivers size. - Are they exempt of...- MTroy

acrylic vs silicon housing for custom iem?
A question for specialists : fix me if i'm wrong, but, in term of purely musical sonic performances, a full silicon iem shell cannot perform when using at least 10mm DD transducer, hybrid or any tubeless multi transducer configuration ? i mean by that it could more difficult to design an...- MTroy

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
indeed, at first, i was bored about positioning them to their slot, but i quickly replaced the original foam by a new custom anti-static right cutted (including my custom cable, that i never unplug) and it was done. Apparently, they introduce the pandora for big custom shell, which are harder to...- MTroy

Your right. But i see that like a good dish. There is the tasting, but before that, comes the eyes pleasure ! (referral to CFA candy boxes) Otherwise, i'm agree. Yeah, it's the empire Aegis case. Put a notice bot to check availability- MTroy

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I found the old Pelican case more charming than new rounded Pandora case. Do you know it EE can sell the old version separately ? Same about white packaged, i found it so "apple"... prefer the full black, better match with the silver winged EE logo.- MTroy

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player
It won't use more power. Same capacity and autonomy as it's predecessor... even hiby has been able to optimize this point ! I'm really disappointed of that 'upgrade'. The proposed specs should have been done already on ap80. Ridiculous.- MTroy

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
There is a real hype around CS those days... R5 as dual CS, also the DX160 of ibasso... new round between concurent ! Any info about the firmware change from the siblings ? Cirrus Logic sound sightly different than the old Sabre used in R3. Don't know if it's sound better for you, but it's a...- MTroy

Xiao Cables
Anyone tried their cables ? I'm looking for a D20 RCA: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32964578543.html But they can't tell me clearly if it's Litz geometry... and copper purity. Also, they revealed to me it's a 3.0mm wire, but unable to give me the thickness of sheath. Look at the copper...- MTroy

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
My bad, i just forgot we discuss about full BA. But you said it was not artificial. that why i linked LX into our point. I must to try both to juge. Your'e right ! I can't find better words. I agree with a more "analogic sound" but overall too dark for me. It miss a bit of grain to sound...- MTroy

BQEYZ in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I bought the KB100 that's so many people praised me. But i found them not enought resolute. In a nutshell, i found even KZ zsn outperform them in many ways (in my cortex). However, their fit seem's to be hugely better for me than whole kz's familly ! (the Andromeda sharp sides are more painful...- MTroy

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
I tried the DUNU Hulk cable paired to FH7, and i think it's too much dark. I instantly feel the difference, but it is not what i expected for this one. You can feel the influence of the thickness of a true plain 2.0mm litz wire (type 2), but surprisingly it's going to dark side. No match with...- MTroy

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
May be U12t can be compared to Empire ears Legend X on the bass register ? Yeah Andro S sound like a steroid boosted FH5, too many emphasis. Ok.. it's musical, but absolutly not analytical ! So many people pushed me to try for a long time, and finally was a big disappointment. Sure this is not...- MTroy

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
i talked about Andromeda version S (doesn't heard the classical green Andro). And i agree, not tested 64Audio, but Noble Kaiser Encore at $2,500 and they sound a bit artificial even with his XX BA... Definitely, i need atleast one DD on my setup. And the 13.5mm beryllium coated of FH7 know how...- MTroy

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
Those fabulous things helped me to ajust my signature cursor, and i'm surprised to see i'm definitely not a true basshead (still loving my CF Atlas). To my cortex, they are clear, neutral, but the lowers hit very well, big bass, but without "any" emphasis, just when needed. That's what...- MTroy
