OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread
But I don't really want a Mojo, and it's in a completely different price range anyway, so not exactly on my radar.- Aryaal

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread
Is it still worth it to get a Ha-2 in 2021 (or 2022 I suppose)? I thought about getting a used one on ebay because I always wanted one years ago before I had the money to get one, but now that I have the Monolith THX portable, I'm curious to see what people still think about the Ha-2 compared to...- Aryaal

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Thanks for the response! I'll consider getting the hybrid pads, but I don't think it will be a priority for me. I thought that the boost pads had just a bit too much bass for me, while the microsuedes really brought out the midrange and treble. At the same time, the NH with the microsuedes seem...- Aryaal

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
Hi everyone. I just joined Clan Nighthawk today. I find that I prefer the microsuede pads over the pleather. What change could I expect from the hybrid pads, and would it be worth it to get them?- Aryaal

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
So I got the 4xx today. I'm willing to do a comparison with the M560s if anyone is interested, but I will be waiting until after my new amp comes in. Shouldn't be more than a few days.- Aryaal

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
As an update, I had my dad try the M560s to see if I'm not crazy. He absolutely loved them, and offered to buy them off of me after I said I was going to return them. I guess he can't hear as much of the high frequencies anymore, or maybe I really am just crazy. :V Anyway, I decided that the...- Aryaal

I've heard good things about the Argons in terms of bass and soundstage. Also I didn't design the plates, I got them on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3184194- Aryaal

I got the angled Brainwavz HM5 pleathers. I was going to get the suedes, but I heard that suede pads often increase treble, while the pleather increase bass. Also, the plates I had printed are made of PLA and look like this: I forgot to get them in black. :V- Aryaal

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
To clarify, I'm not looking for bass canons, I have M100s for that. I just wanted to experience the "planar bass" that everyone talks about, but the M560s are rather flat in the low end compared to what I expected. I am considering M1060s, but they cost more than the M560s and the HE4xx and I...- Aryaal

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
Well, after receiving the 3d printed plates and the Brainwavz pads I order, I preformed a padswap on my M560s. Soundstage gets a little bit bigger, and the highs are brought back just a little, but overall sound signature stays the same. Compared to my 58x Jubilees, the M560s still sound rather...- Aryaal

Sounds like a good time. Keep me posted on your results and I'll see about trying some Brainwavez suedes on my M560s. I wanted to find someone to 3d print some of the plastic pad holders, but there aren't many people in my area that do affordable prints, but we'll see what happens. I think that...- Aryaal

Thanks for the suggestions! Have you tried any suede pads yet? In my research, some people seem to think that suedes work well at reigning the M560s in, but checking ZMF's website, they claim that their suedes help reduce mid-bass and improve treble, which is the exact opposite of what I am...- Aryaal

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones
Hi everyone, first head-fi post here. I just got the m560s and I love them, but definitely pick up the "honkyness" that has been described before, and the treble is a just bit sharper than I'm used to. What pads should I get to help tame the treble and soften that "honkyness" a bit, without...- Aryaal
