[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
Colors: I agree and while I found the Hyla CE-5 to be superior, particularly for my preferences, I couldn't justify the price difference based on my usage which is out and about, travel, or occasionally around the house. I'm still an over-ear guy at heart too. Jonafi: That's one of the exact...- MattAsAHatter

BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series
I thought the IT04 only did a couple things that were improvements compared to IEMs like DM6. Imaging and a little better bass impact. Enjoyed both the DM6 and IT04 for their own merits!- MattAsAHatter

iBasso DX150. Dual dacs and interchangeable AMPs. **NEW Firmware that supports AMP9! ** New FIRMWARE 1.05 Dec 30.
Interested in opinions. I'm considering buying a used amp8 for my DX150 only to turn around and sell the entire package. I already have an amp5 and amp7 (the amp7 makes a popping sound in the left channel when music playback starts but is otherwise in great condition). I am the second owner of...- MattAsAHatter

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
Yeah but have you heard the Legend X? I joke. Maybe. I agree with what you said. There are a couple sets I'm going to try but I think this is, generally, the sound I want.- MattAsAHatter

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
Hopefully by the end of this week! My current IEMs are going on loan to my friend who I bounce audio gear off of so I'll have time to dedicate strictly to the Hyla without the temptation of immediately A/B-ing.- MattAsAHatter

Upon first impression I did not but I'm using the bass filters, so that might need switched up, and I need to do a lot more listening. I'll try to come up with some tracks to look for it specifically!- MattAsAHatter

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
So my Fearless S8F came in today. I have to say that my perspective for judging the FH7 had maybe not been appropriate. Leading up to the FH7 I had most recently been listening to the IT04, Westone UM Pro 50, KZ ZS10 Pro, and Sony EX800st. Apparently that is not exactly a clean pallet for...- MattAsAHatter

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver
Bear with me as this is from memory (sold the IT04 to fund the FH7) and I'm not a seasoned enough audio comparison professional (haha). Also keep in mind that I had the IT04 about a month and have had the FH7 for about 3 full days. Granted, I have been running the FH7 through a lot of my own...- MattAsAHatter

I had the same problem disconnecting the cable. Ridiculously tight connection. I'm actually using a backup cable I bought for my iBasso IT04 that I kept when I sold that set. The CB12s I believe. I really like that cable.- MattAsAHatter

The ATH MSR7 treble bothered me a bit but the DM6 and FH7 haven't troubled me. Different sources for portable equipment vs desktop but still. I think they have strong treble but for me it's not overbearing. I'm 40 with moderately good hearing (no issues the time I had it checked last year).- MattAsAHatter

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SYMBIO-Wa-Silicone-Memory-Foam-Special-Hybrid-Universal-Ear-Tips-Shure-Westone/123795420594 I had originally purchased these to use with my Westone but I recently sold that IEM so I figured I'd give them a try with the FH7. BGVP discussion thread DM7/ DM6/DMG and NEW BA series
I was strongly considering the DM7 but the amount of problems being experienced is making me lean towards some extra saving and getting the FH7 or a Fearless S8F.- MattAsAHatter

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
I don't but it's generally advised to get an amp or dac/amp with most phones. I tried to find the S9+ just now but a quick effort produced no fruit.- MattAsAHatter

I lend all of my headphones to a music loving co-worker and when he first tried to run the Argons off of his phone he thought I was crazy for raving about them. Then he put them on his Magni3 and revealed their glory.- MattAsAHatter

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Taking them with you would make more sense. If you're going to use them at the desk then they'll fit the bill. They're still not extremely convenient for compact transportation. The pads are large (etc) and they do not fold or become much more compact than when you're wearing them. However, they...- MattAsAHatter

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Using my JDS Labs Atom I was getting excellent sound at the desktop. I upgraded my power (double or so) and do not feel like the return on investment is very noticeable. Others report more power opens the soundstage. I would not recommend these for portable purposes. The pads are huge and the...- MattAsAHatter

What's my next headphone?
Language is frustrating. Standards are convenient/nice to help language be precise in times of technical need (or otherwise) and a line should probably be drawn to divide open, semi-open, and closed. DBs of isolation or leak etc.- MattAsAHatter

Focal Clear headphones
I had the same thought. Right now I'm thinking about eventually collecting the LCD-2 closed back and the Focal Clear to go with my HEX V1. I still need to hear the LCD but from what I've read it's probably the closed back I'm looking for as a contrast/complement.- MattAsAHatter
