I use a coat hanger, really opens up the higher registers and tightens up the bass :^)

Not sure why people keep mentioning high power requirements. These are 20 ohm with 100 db sensitivity. They sound just fine and get plenty loud with my old USB powered Centrance Dacport. On a Questyle CMA600i I barely get above 9 o'clock.

Night and and day you say? How come there's no measurable difference then? Every single blind test shows there is no perceivable difference. People couldn't tell apart a coat hanger from a nice cable in a blind test. head-fi should be renamed to placebo-fi at this point

Curious if anyone had a chance to compare the Z1R to LCD-XC. The Sonys seem like a logical next pair for me to try.

I was looking forward to getting the LCD-4 to compare against the XCs thinking they would surpass them in every way possible (except isolation of course :)) Curious about why you prefer the XCs and what are the strengths/weaknesses for both.

Sorry if that was answered already. Does the LG V35 ThinQ have the same audiophile desirability as the V30? Seems like it's based on the G7. Trying to choose between the LG V35 ThinQ and Pixel 2 XL.

I agree. I generally prefer a warmer sound but they completely changed my preference. The highs are so musical; they grab your attention but are never harsh or out of place, even though I'm pretty treble sensitive.

Looks great! Does the new headband feel more comfy? They sell them separately and I'm tempted to splash $200 for the carbon fiber one :)

The Sieveking Omega is fantastic if you're into classy wood ones. Very high quality but pricey. There's a Chinese knock-off on Amazon for ~$30, but I can't comment on how good/bad it is.

Got mine used a week ago and they have been a true eye-opener after 10 years of using DT 990 PRO exclusively. The Beyers now sound like everything is filtered through a 3 foot concrete wall :) Seems like the current ones come with this newer style of headband...
