Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
You can always as Bob at IMR for some. It sounds like you were given the replacement set when the Zeniths came out. The first set were out of phase and can be fixed easily flipping the 2 pin connectors. So basically, everyone got a spare set minus filters. That would explain why the filters were...- sino8r

Oh... I get the comparison now with the open backs. I thought you were confused about it and thinking it was the planar model coming up. I'm really excited about the Rah and the entry level planar. I'm saving my loyalty code for one of those. I'm sure the open back R2 will sound good but I...- sino8r

I asked Bob if the new filters for the R2 will be available for sale and/or if they'll fit the Zenith and R1. Also asked about the coupon code working on the Rah. This is his reply... The filters should fit all models and I am just finalising them now. I will be offering them but I will only...- sino8r

Don't get me wrong... I love my R1s and Zeniths but don't these look like the Zenith shell with a open grill attached? I'm wondering if the Zeniths phase issues killed some of the sales and reviews which resulted in fewer sales than anticipated. The R1 was praised so much that Bob over-bought...- sino8r

FiiO FH7 - FiiO's Flagship Hybrid IEM
As a FH5 and IMR R1 & Zenith owner, I can say that with a DD that large it has the potential for alot of bass. The filters will probably make the difference. One graph with no labels as to which filter was used won't explain much. More than likely, it was probably the neutral filter to give a...- sino8r

I might as well post my mod. Same as before with the R1. Changed out the 2 pin to mmcx due to my Sony MUC-M2BT1 bluetooth. The method was the same as the R1, rotary tool with engraving bit at 5000 rpm to drill out the 2 pin shaped mold in the housing, solder the mmcx connectors, and lightly fill...- sino8r

That's bizarre. Mine aren't that way at all. I do use an equalizer and triple flange tips though. I seem to be rather treble sensitive at my advanced age of 37 lol. Usually seems to be a younger person thing. The only thing I can suggest is check the phase via wires and try foam tips. Mine take...- sino8r

That's pretty cool! I remember the artwork for those prototypes. The venting system is still primitive compared the Zenith. I even went as far as to drill out the vents on the R1 to twice the size of the original. Helped with the driver flex but the sound change was barely distinguishable if at...- sino8r

I forgot to mention this a while back but if any are still having balance issues or anything else it could still be a phase issue. My replacement set had the left side out of phase. I opened it and confirmed that the positive (green) was facing the left side and not the right towards the driver...- sino8r

What is bleeding? Mid bass bleeding perhaps? If so, it depends on the filter. Bob said that since the vent is much more open and the piezoelectric driver has been upgraded that the filters won't sound exactly the same as the R1. I really don't like the filter with the cover. Sounds really...- sino8r
