I am using it with a Calyx Femto DAC. I compared it to some other dacs and consider it better (more refined). Other dac's I use(d) are Violectric V800, NAD M51, Antelope audio Zodiac gold and platinum. Nice combination!

Yes, it is possible to buy this as a spare part. But the 3 pin mini xlr is allready fixed inside. And it was difficult for me to get it out. I damaged the plastic surrounding of the mini xlr connector.

Yes it was about W5000 allthough this is AWKT thread... The initial question was about the similarities / differences between the two. But I get the feeling not many people own AT woodies and these are somewhat of a niche product! Interesting!

I read that some people have a problem with fit and this affects sound in a big way. I hope I am not one of them. If so, I will try my best to make it work by bending the headband etc. It's a bit of a gamble, this will be my first AT headphone!

I was indeed talking about sonics only! If it is about building quality there are indeed points which can be bettered. I also did the balanced mod. on K712 (and reversed it later to use non balanced again). If you heat the plastic it will deform quickly. But I think this will happen to other...
