I can't say which one is better because they have completely different sound signature. The dekoni is a fun sound and the 400i is an analytical sound. I personally prefer the dekoni because I find the 400i a boring headphone. But a good compromise between the two is the massdrop x hifiman 4xx.

I can tell the headband is very stiff with little give if that helps lol. Compared to Hifiman 400i they have significantly more bass. Not as clean bass but a lot more.

They are two different sound signatures. I personally find the alpha prime easily superior to any t50 mod. He is referring to the open alpha mod. Mrspeakers release the 3d printing files and instructions to make alpha dogs.

I can compare them to the Lcd2 fazor Ed. The T60 have more clear mids and highs and less bass. When I get home tonight I will do a A/B comparison and give more detail.

Do not get the cowhide pads, they add way to much bass to the point its sloppy and muddy. A little air from the protein pads really control and tighten up the bass.

It is an absolute shame that these a being discontinued. They are magically funky and unique. Many people describe these as laid back and that is the perfect description. The highs are there and clear but are pushed back a little as to not be piercing, the mids are front and center with back up...

The Alpha Primes (and quite frankly all the MrSpeaker mods) blow them out of the water. MrSpeakers have way more controlled bass while I find the Dekoni Blue very sloppy. But they make for one helluva a great set of headphones for gaming.

Recently picked up a pair of T60rp used on Adorama and definitely better than Fostex's other in house modded T50rp, the Dekoni Blue. I prefer a little more bass than what the t60rp has but the Dekoni Blue has such sloppy bass.
