OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread
on my Q1 MK2 i'm going balanced just to get the extra umph from the extra dac chips and less for the balanced audio channels themselves. (this is for HD6XX) I do really want a Q5 now though.- DarthCh0l0

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
You're right. It doesn't matter. As much as people won't admit, for equal production costs, China could probably improve on quality of sennheisers. They make some incredible products there with speed unparalleled in the world. Problem is that people go to lower costs only.- DarthCh0l0

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
HD650 are made in china? My 6XX was made in Ireland. I have a Beyer DT770 pro at low 32 ohm rating, but it seems like it still requires lots of power compared to the 6XX. I've heard that 650/6XX can scale with good amps but i've been super impressed with performance on FiiO Q1 mk2 and even...- DarthCh0l0

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I just got my massdrop 6XX. Oh man, i didn't know what I was missing. Surprising well powered by FiiO and usb-c google provided dongle. - no fatigue - no sibilance - super comfortable (after loosening the metal clamps). - very punchy bass - plays well with google music (non audiophile recordings).- DarthCh0l0

Looking for sub 100 hd6xx cable 2.5 balanced
Title says it all. I can find 150-200 but not any 100 or lower. Any links/ brands I should look at? If not then going with lqi cables. https://lqicables.com/products/esprit-up-occ-silver-plated-copper- DarthCh0l0

I have the same pair with grey velour pads. I also have the leatherette pads although i switched to velour right away. I found fit to important.I have long ears and found that extending them so the top of my ear is inside the cup made a big difference. My ears are weird and one of my earlobes is...- DarthCh0l0

Who streams hi-res audio first?
Reviving in hopes of not creating new thread. I want a dedicated streaming player. Thinking of a iPhone SE as burner iPhones sell for 150. Anything cheaper or better for that price? Going to use with fiio q1 mk2- DarthCh0l0

The Review Tour of FiiO Q1 Mark II Apple MFi Certified DAC & Amp Starts Right Now.
I haven't found an Android phone it didn't work with yet. A good cable is hard to find. They all charge the DAC that drains better.but they all transmit audio just fine. I found a other usbc to micro that's OTG on both ends so it doesn't pass charging current.- DarthCh0l0

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Owned HD595 now for over 10 years and its still my favorite headphone. I've babied them (no cracked headband, no rubbed off paint, cable still good condition). Just replaced pads with new ones. Are any of you modern 59X owners have tear downs of the internals? I'd like to replace the cable...- DarthCh0l0

That works well. I don't like those kind of cases, however you gave me idea to sacrifice a regular pixel 2 xl case purpose built for this.- DarthCh0l0

Yes. Just looking for ideas for a Q1 mk2 that's smaller. It seems like with newer phones the bands end up covering too much of the screen.- DarthCh0l0

Where's the Bass? DT770 Pro 32 Ohm
I just found this thread. Im gonna get a good cheap desktop amp since these are my work headphones. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more.513393/ 32Ohm Models Despite their low Ohm rating, the 32Ohm variants actually will need a little more...- DarthCh0l0

Where's the Bass? DT770 Pro 32 Ohm
Dang it. Comfort wise with your pads these felt like the best closed back headphones for me. They didn't seal air pressure around my ear which I dont like the feeling. I don't want to rebuy.- DarthCh0l0

Where's the Bass? DT770 Pro 32 Ohm
My headphone journey led me to DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm. Reputation is these were better suited for those that like Bass and I picked the lower impedance version since I had some less powerful amps that work well with my other headphones. Why is the bass not pronounced? I'd describe the bass as...- DarthCh0l0

A newbie question...
Depends on the model of the DAC. Some cheaper ones don't have a "line out" that would bypass the amp.- DarthCh0l0

USB Type C 3.1 to Micro USB OTG Cable
This cable Mcmadface is the only one that worked on my pixel XL !!! Old HD595 want to modernize
After posting I've been looking to see if I could buy a replacement part of newer hd 5 series headphones that would be plug n play (the female 2.5mm part). The cable being removable would be the added benefit. Can't find any teardowns or part schematics of any of the newer he 5 series...- DarthCh0l0

Old HD595 want to modernize
I still just replaced the old disintegrating ear-cups on this oldie but goodie. Now I was hoping i could convert this to take shorter cables. I've had the super long one in a zip tie forever. I was hoping I could get my hands on one of these connectors and a retrofit a 3.5mm female plug in...- DarthCh0l0
