So what you are actually saying that if i was to rotate the ear all they way like he had done I wouldnt break it? That lock you are talking about would just sanp open and then you can close it by rotating it to the other direction?

he says and shows his copy getting to around 90 degree angle moving the ear caps my copy cant really get anywhere near it and when i tried to push one ear cap this way i started to feel like im gonna break it so i stopped .... how is your copy ?

I wanted to go with the m40x but people are saying the build quality is not good and that the headphones break after half a year

Do you think the m50x can be used portably? And if so how do you think they will do eith metal music?

Thank you for answering I in the end ordered the hd6xx with schiit magni 3 that should drive them well... If i dont like the 6xx i could easly sell them again and not loose money since i got them for really cheap and look for other headphones
