ifi GE5670’s reconfigured as 6922’s I bought these new from my local dealer this past spring on a lark given some of the other commentary I have read on ifi gear. If memory serves, they pair were $100, brand new, unused. I am quite happy with them! They have a great sound – not too...

I am using HiFiMan HE-1000's for my headphones.... I did find that it takes a solid 100-150 hrs of actual run time (just loop music into DAC and amp and turn volume down on headphones and "let it run" before tubes started to sound decent. Early hours of on a pair of Mullards were simply...

Schiit LISST's (yeah, I know they are not tubes) Hmmm the LISSTs.. what to say….. As they are solid state, I have given them a two month, 24hrs a day cook-in, or about 1400 hours. The punchline: They sure don't sound like decent tubes. While not as bright and harsh as a generic...

Hi, Sad to read of your problem.. As other fellow Schiit travelers have already noted, it sure sounds like the phono jack is the issue. Have you consulted with the Nick at Schiit? He is usually helpful, though brief. He can be reached at tech at schiit dot com....

Telefunken CCa (1960’s vintage, Large Halo Getters) Review and Comment Well, I am glad I had the benefit of an acquaintance to urge me on to try these tubes. They are definite keepers. Until I listened with my own ears, others had steered me away from the Telefunken’s as not having the warmth...

In terms of the warmth of the voice, these tubes were certainly warmer than the Mullards and perhaps a tiny bit warmer than the Philips Miniwatts. In terms of left/right sound stage, they were more narrow than both and seemed closer to the Gold Lions.

Yes indeed.. it does seem to be weakly followed.. I can listen to tubes and write only so fast ;-) Maybe other people can write up their own experiences. Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone.

Hi Mark Not sure extra burn in time is going to make reduce microphonic behavior. Maybe the dampers will help you, especially if you have the tubes on sockets, providing a bit more height. You could always explore putting a high-temp o ring on the tube.

Finally have gotten around to my Reflektor 6N23P 1975 HG Silver Shields review. These tubes are interesting - they needed a solid 300 hours before they started sounding really pleasant. Reputed by some to be the “best tube out there,” (heh, as many opinions as there are noses), they came to...

No one is trying to be nasty to you MS.. the reality of the way the head-fi forum works, you have to have been an active posting member for a while to do certain things. I could not create a thread until I had participated in a constructive way on other threads of interest. For all I know, I...

I misspoke. Apoligies. I should have said Reflektor "silver shields". I wrongly said " grey shields" sorry for the confusion
