Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
Also in my boxes of tubes I found some tubes that might be of interest to WA6 version 1 owners. These are 6CG7/6FQ7 tubes that can be used with this adapter https://www.ebay.com/itm/193444245987 They're in pristine brand new condition. People seem to like them a lot. Unfortunately, you can't...- ebrandon

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
Joining the WA6SE club, and found a bunch of tubes in my closet! Any red flags for tubes I shouldn't use with my WA6SE 1st gen? When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I would often buy large boxes full of tubes on Craiglist. Grandpa the electrical engineer from 1950s/60s would pass away...- ebrandon

All things Metrum Acoustics
I'm looking at buying a used Metrum Hex, but would only do it if I could have the second-generation Amanero USB board. This is both for convenience of not having to use special drivers, and sound quality. I contacted Metrum and asked if they would do the upgrade and they said no. Does anyone...- ebrandon

Shanling M5s now with TIDAL - Dual AK4493EQ DAC, fully balanced, Wi-Fi, 2way LDAC BT, 3.2 Touch screen, FW 3.7
I understand this doesn't run a Roon client app -- which means it can't control Roon. But does Roon see it as an end-point over wifi? So that Roon can play music to the M5s, controlled by a different client (iPad, laptop, whatever)?- ebrandon

Audio-gd R2R DAC Thread
I am looking at a used R2R11, built around the time of the changeover from version 1 to the new "2019 model". Is there anyway by looking at the DAC to know whether its the older or the newer model? Thanks!- ebrandon

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
I tried an OTG adapter. I can connect the LG V30 to a radsone ES100 successfully with that cable, but not the M0.- ebrandon

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
My Shanling M0 works great as a USB DAC when connected to my Mac. But when connected to my android phone (LG V30) with a usb c - usb c cable, the M0 doesn't go into DAC mode and the phone doesn't switch its audio to the M0. Any ideas?- ebrandon

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Comply website doesn't list Mavin Air-X as one of the products they know about. What product should I use on their website whose tips will also be compatible with the Mavin Air-X? Thanks!- ebrandon

If it's true that one earbud is always SBC that's a total deal breaker for me. For anyone who thinks SBC is good enough or that SBC / AAC / APTX / LDAC all sound the same, here is a very interesting set of measurements made by Radstone, the sophisticated electronics manufacturer who makes the...- ebrandon

Radsone EarStudio ES100
I just got my es100 today from the $75 Amazon sale. Have been curious about this device for quite a while. So far, I'm very impressed. SQ is excellent, and I love all the options in the very well designed companion app. Lots of fun experimentation & listening ahead! This is the first device...- ebrandon

I don't appreciate the tone of your reply. I was helpfully trying to share my impressions with the community here, and you are attacking me. Additionally, don't call me "son". It's rude to do it to anyone, and it's especially rude to do it to me because I'm probably older than you. It's a...- ebrandon

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Went to the Sennheiser store in San Francisco today to check out the TWM. Spent about 1/2 hour listening to my standard suite of test tracks over AAC from a Shanling m0. 1) It was comfortable for me. A bit of pressure in one ear, but probably could adjust it to eliminate that one pain point...- ebrandon

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
I tried connecting the Shanling m0 to my computer via USB and to my headphones wirelessly via LDAC. The idea was for music to go Computer --> m0 -> Headphones This didn't work. It is not yet possible, I assume?- ebrandon

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
I got my m0 today and am very impressed with this little device. It's the first time I've heard LDAC to my Sony WM-1000XM3 headphones, and the LDAC makes a big difference. I've also really enjoyed listening to music on a microSD card playing on my HiFiMan 400s headphones which seem like a...- ebrandon

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
I can confirm that confirm that with firmware 3.1, into an iFi microDSD black label, via USB, both volume and gain are enabled -- they change the volume of the sound.- ebrandon

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
I'm confused. Just updated to firmware 3.1 mainly so that my USB output would be "more" bit-perfect (although I understand that Cayin doesn't like that term). Anyway ... I'm outputting from the N3 to an iFi Micro BL via USB, and the volume control on the N3 still affects the volume. Even the...- ebrandon

Fiio L21 cable for X5II coax too long. Alternatives?
Hi all, I'm connecting a fiio X5II to an ifi iDSD micro's coaxial input. I bought the fiio L21 cable to do this, but at 3 feet it's inconveniently long. Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/L21-Digital-Coaxial-Connector-Players/dp/B019OWCID6 Does anyone know of a reasonably priced...- ebrandon
