    Interesting! Those look a lot like EL84's. . .

Nice looking tubes, with solid welded plates and d-getters, of which are two distinguishing traits of an earlier version. You know what we tube heads always say, the earlier the better.

They have been getting talked up quite a bit lately in another thread, and as I am a fan of the early GEC house sound, I just had to find out what all the fuss is about. Several, are preferring the VT60 over the KT66, KT88, 6550. . . More to come.

I have only heard the CO at CanJam, but I was one of the only one's in the room at one time while listening so did get a good read on them, and they came off as a little too bright for me, and so I welcome the added warmth of the CC, and they have exactly what I was hoping to hear from the CO...

Cool! I also have some GEC VT60 (807) on the way and have some custom made adapters from @Deyan already made and being shipped out on Monday. We are a terrible influence on each other, and I love it! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice looking tubes! I almost picked up a pair of those 6550 yesterday, and am very curious about those. Also, I did score some Russian 6F6M1 53' Foton's yesterday, as well as some 6F6S (Russian KT63), and will wait to see which rectifiers to use with those. I also picked up a Osram U50 (5Y3G)...

Nice! You will have a killer SS/Tube combo there, with your 3F and Aegis. Talk about the best of both worlds for ZMF's, in my opinion you have it.

So, this Mullard GZ32 adds a really nice level of refinement from top to bottom, opens up the staging, and has a smooth sound overall with really good extension on both ends. The mids have gained some textured crunch and euphony, and guitars and female vocals sound especially nice, with this...

Great review! To all who are reading and wondering what this headphone sounds like, @betula's review is truth. Those are the most beautiful pair of CO I have seen by the way! Good stuff, and excellent photos with really good lighting!

I was looking at some of those Cossor's last night, and with those kind of prices, yep I won't be buying any of those. I have a Mullard smooth plate fat base on my radar, and I am sure some comparisons will happen eventually.

Just thinking out loud, and I have to say it is so damn cool to have the designer of this amp (@L0rdGwyn) actually be an enthusiasts, who follows along and shares valuable info about the amp consistently. Those of you who have one coming, are in for a treat all around. You are getting the...

LOL and sorry man! I can get a little carried away with tubes and tube talk, and I know I am terrible influence. I am sure I have helped many people drain their bank accounts over the years. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: My name is Wes and I am a tube addict.

I love learning about why they sound different, and thanks for sharing. I have a Sittard 59' D Getter GZ34 on the way, and look forward to comparing it to the Mullard GZ32.

With what I am hearing right now, this is definitely a tube to get. The depth of the staging is stunning and the decay and reverb seem to go on forever. Talk about hearing the room, this tube does it.

No other tube brand does bass, mids and staging quite like early Mullard's. The GZ32 Black Welded Plate is sounding mighty fine, and this one will most definitely stay in rotation.

Yes. I speak from experience, and yes I blew a Master. The Master is so damn good though, that I got a replacement. I went up 1 size and have been rocking and rolling ever since.

Time for another tube roll, as this one just got delivered. Say hello to a Mullard GZ32, of which is a super rare and early version with Black Welded Plates. The thing looks like it's brand new, even though it's an early 50’s make. :grinning: Time to see how it sounds. . .

I have always preferred the GEC house sound over Tung Sol for the reasons you just mentioned, and thanks for this. 807 it is. . .
