New from Weiss - the DAC 204 IN STOCK A TTVJAudio.com
This confirms my general feeling that 9v is likely where you want to be with the 204. I think I may just get an Sbooster 9v.- davelarz

New from Weiss - the DAC 204 IN STOCK A TTVJAudio.com
Thanks - yes I'm aware that the specified voltage range is 6-9. When it came to the Farad it seemed like most had opted for the 9 and not the 7v edition and generally with a voltage range I tend to go for the highest possible allowance. So I was curious to see if anyone had actually tried the 7v...- davelarz

New from Weiss - the DAC 204 IN STOCK A TTVJAudio.com
I'm sorry if this was already covered somewhere in this thread but I'm wondering if anyone has tried a Farad Super 3 7v with the DAC204. I know that people were singing the praises of the 9v... I have access to a 7v for a great price but would like to know if will work well before I go to the...- davelarz

Tidal vs Spotify - findings.
Tidal's integration with Audirvana is the key for me. Converted to DSD, I find my Tidal streaming sounds ridiculously good, often makes me wonder about the untold funds I have blown and continue to blow on my analog rig and discs...- davelarz

Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners
Still own a pair of Infinity RSIIIa's and I still think that, if you have a room where their size isn't prohibitive, they are an incredible bargain. Can be found used in the 300-400 range and their performance is equal IMO to many speakers in the 2000-3000 range today. I have a pair of Triton...- davelarz

Power conditioners/regenerators - let's talk about clean power
I have been curious about power conditioning for years but always shy away from spending the dough because I hear people saying it's very system dependent and also that is has the capacity to degrade the sound. Anyone else experience this? -

Problem with Ifi Nano DSD and iPhone 6s
Hello all - I've been using a friend's ifi Nano DSD with my iphone 6s (through CCK) and I'm very impressed with the SQ. Unfortunately, it keeps cutting out on me, audio just suddenly goes dead. This is happening when streaming from Tidal or listening to downloads on the Music app. There's a...- davelarz

Vinyl sounds better than digitial if you ...
Ah I see you have a Classic also. What do you have on there now? Everywhere I read that the 20x2 was a good match but I have a friend who has a Soundsmith on his (not sure which SS) and he loves it- davelarz

Vinyl sounds better than digitial if you ...
It would be hard for me to assess the DV 20x2 LOMC honestly for a lot of reasons - mainly that it came as part of a package with a major tt upgrade. Before I had an MMF-7 with a Grado Reference Sonata - I moved up to a VPI classic with the DV on it (my first LOMC as well). The Classic/DV combo...- davelarz

Vinyl sounds better than digitial if you ...
I listen to a lot of jazz and prefer vinyl - I have a decent rig (VPI Classic, DV 20x2, Black Cube SE II) and I find that I have my most ecstatic sessions with records. Feels more three dimensional, like the spirit of the music is in the room, bass in particular feels more lifelike. That said...- davelarz

Hello all - Cardas Clear USB?
Hello Head FI - new member here, longtime audiophile but relatively new to digital audio. I'm running a Mac Mini as my server into a Marantz HD-Dac1 using a Shunyata Venom USB cable. I bought this cable on the rec of a friend without auditioning any others, and recently A-B'ed it against a stock...- davelarz

Hifiman HE400s comfort issues
Thanks for the advice. Have ithen stretching now. We'll see. I think I may just be extra-sensitive to that kind of pressure even in small doses. I had a pair of ATH-m50's that gave me the same problem. The headphones I have that give me no comfort problems are Bose qc 25s but they sound like...- davelarz

Hifiman HE400s comfort issues
I have but maybe I haven't been aggressive enough. Was always a little worried about overdoing it. But I've had them for 3 months and it's gotten to the point where I'm ready to get rid of them, so maybe I should go a little further stretching-wise. Is there any preferred method for this...- davelarz

Hifiman HE400s comfort issues
Hello all - new to Headfi though I've been lurking for a while. I have a pair of HE400s and while I am happy with the sound I find them very uncomfortable, mostly due to the amount of pressure they exert on my temples. Leads to pressure headaches for me after not very much listening time. I have...- davelarz
