The only bad thing for smartphone is that they simply do not have enough power to drive some high impedance headphone, nor could they line out into portable amps

I use hifiman 901S with Triad L3 amp to drive my He500 and it sounds great! I think Hifiman 901s can even drive HE500 well in the balance mode!
