    In a stock T1/T1S only approx. 0.5-3mA of signal current remains for the headphones. As a result of the CCS modification, only ~2.8mA current is "consumed" by the feedback resistors, leaving 6.8-9.2 mA available to drive the headphones.

    Many people have done and published such mods on multiple platforms. It certainly helps with the infamous STAX fart. However, while it adds kick-bass, I reduces or even kills sub-bass (more or less).

    I guess you're right, Kevin. Should have looked at the tube more closely before posting. The chip is very, very thin, though, and also very shiny on one side. That's why I confused it for getter material. One piece of it even made it to the lower deck.

    Has anybody ever seen getter (?) material chipping off 6S4A tubes for no apparent reason before? Any idea what the root cause is? Balance of the affected channel is about 275V now, even after replacing the tube, yikes. Offset can be adjusted to about 0V.

    I bet the two grub screws are still in place inside the threading but need to be tightened. You'll need a 2,5mm hex head screw driver to do so.

    When you only twist them they will always untwist themselves in my experience. The trick is to manually cross the individual strands over and over again as if you were braiding them.
