B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
OK so I got my replacement pair yesterday. First of all, very impressed by B&O. They replaced my headphones with a completely new boxed pair, shrink wrapped and all. Now, having listened to the fresh (i.e. completely new) pair, I can definitely confirm that, out of the box, the bass is...- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
Well, I can run this as an experiment. B&O are replacing my old H9 (which developed a fault) with a new pair. So if the new pair sounds bass-heavy to me, I'll know that burning in would have done *something* to the sound signature (and it's not just me adjusting my expectations over time).- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
Give it a bit of time. The overpowering bass was my initial impression too, but it became less prominent with time. "Burning in", I guess.- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
My H9 died on me. Not a battery issue. Just wouldn't power on. Sent it back to B&O and they've identified that it's a defective unit and are sending a replacement (brand new as opposed to refurbished). Pretty quick turnaround. Great service.- headfiJunkie

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Had a brainwave. Despite the sticker which was applied on the wheel when I bought the QP1R, the wheel still slips very often. I'm guessing it's probably not as bad as without the sticker, but definitely not ideal. I bought some puffy stickers for my kid this morning and decided to take one...- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
Hey FenderP, why don't you get the H6v2? They're cheaper and they sound really good from what I hear. Or is there something else about the H9s that interests you (about from bluetooth).- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
I did. Completely agree that it will sound different for different people, so best try a pair yourself. What I would say is definitely gone in the H9 compared to the H8 is the really annoying metallic clinking sound you used to get with the H8 whenever you're walking about. Don't know if that's...- headfiJunkie

B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
By it's pure physical design alone, the isolation in H9 is better than in H8 (I have both - got the H9 last week in store a day after I got the email announcing the H9) because it's over the ear. But I think the ANC employed is slightly different as well, so whilst it's also slightly 'stronger'...- headfiJunkie

Is there a changelog somewhere that tells us what has changed / is new in FW 2 and FW 3? I'm still (still!) on 1.x- headfiJunkie

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H8 (Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones)
Yes, I got it last week. I wrote some quick impressions which I'll quote below. One other thing to mention is that when using an iPhone as the source and walking around, i find that the volume is usually at the max level. In a quieter environment (at night at home) then I don't find it necessary...- headfiJunkie

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H8 (Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones)
Another thing I've noticed as a difference between the H8 and the H9. With the H8, if you're walking about with the ANC on, you'll hear a very strange clinking sound with every footstep. No such issue with the H9 (finally!).- headfiJunkie

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
A question to those a lot more knowledgeable than me: Why does it take so long to add a new category ("Album" added between "Artist" > "Track" in "Play by category")? Perhaps it didn't take that long between FW1.07 to FW1.08 but they waited for other bits to be added before releasing? Or...- headfiJunkie

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H8 (Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones)
Well, one thing I've always noticed was that there is a difference in sound with the ANC on and with it off for the H8 (it loses some fidelity and sounds compressed with the ANC on). There appears to be very little difference in sound with the ANC on and with it off for the H9, so kudos to B&O.- headfiJunkie

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H8 (Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphones)
I just bought the H9 from the B&O store (Canary Wharf in London). They weren't aware of the free Form 2i deal mentioned above. Boo. They had three in stock when I called this morning (two black and one tan), but they only had one black one left when I got there at lunch time. They're selling...- headfiJunkie

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I agree that would be a real miss, but (again without having tried out the new firmware) that would be very odd. I would have thought that almost every other consumer grade player has been able to do that very easily (random within genre, random within artist, random within album... depending on...- headfiJunkie

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Fantastic news on "4 play by category, added “artist”—>”Album”—>”music”. !!! I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but for a future release, is it possible to have it also do "genre" --> "artist" --> "album" --> "music"? Pretty please?- headfiJunkie
