Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
The XBA-40 always gave me the feeling that the recordings could always reach lower and lower and lower... Thing is it didn't and after a while the myth kind of became fiction... Nonetheless, it was my favorite because of how balanced the sound is... but I'm very indecisive about...- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
I guess I like bloated bass then if I like the JVC HA-XXXX. The XBA-40's "pitch resonance" or sound signature is very high. The ATH-IM04 is much warmer. I hope the Shure SE846 and ATH-E70 sounds warmer and darker than the ATH-IM04.- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
I'm not sure what bloated means, but I like when the bass acts like a sound floor... when it gets low and airy, not sharp and dry...- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
That and mainstream brands. I feel more comfortable with commercial brands because I believe they're cheaper and better¹ because they're adapted to a broader source of customers. ¹ But that's without trying the other companies. All I'm really looking for in an earphone is a lot of...- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
Whew that's a lot! (Both drivers and $!) I hope that includes the SE846. I don't know which other earphones would be bassier than the ATH-IM04... I mostly know commercial brands...- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
Yes, the XBA-40 was very high sounding compared. Listening in a car, I meant; It's about the resonance. It's very reminiscent of listening to the radio or music in a car, enclosure type-wise, speaker size, sound field and and yes, intimacy, veil, thickness! Honestly the ATH-IM04 is my...- laelle

Really? 4 bass drivers Sony, I didn't know its existence I knew about the hybrids though I noticed that with the ATH-IM04, it almost sounds like listening music in a car lol...- laelle

Whats the best Balanced Armature iem you have ever tried?
I just received the ATH-IM04 and I gotta say it adds a lot of definition to the low end compared to the XBA-40. Too much? I don't know, I didn't gauge with enough songs yet. Enough? Same. I don't know how much compared to the ATH-IM50/70 though but it definately gives body to shrill...- laelle

By others I mean; Not necessarily Quad. I thought Quad was the highest; I saw; Earsonics, Ultimate Ears, Westone W60 that has up to 9 drivers...- laelle
