On the topic of phone audio: When recently i got my k7xx i only had my galaxy S4 to hand to first try them out. It sounded absolutely terrible! At first i thought it was the biggest missbuy ever but when connecting them to my desktop setup it was much much better. Phone doesnt even come close...

I've got a 250ohm dt880 which should, because of the efficiency of the tesla 2 driver, be harder to drive than the dt1770. And i can run my 880 on my galaxy s4 aswell as shield tablet just fine. I have to run it at 100% but it's loud enough then. Not sure about your iPhone though.

I kinda hope the materials used on the cup speak more quality than the one used with the he400i although it looks freaking awesome. And it's probably way outta my league right now but still :P

  at $1600 i could get it if i sold my dt880, k7xx, magister and he400i! Worth it? :D

  Good choice on the 970. I can see you like open back cans and probably when you are listening to them, your PC is on idle. In that case the G1 is not your best bet because it does not have the 0db feature some other cards have.  I own the G1 970 too and i'd prefer if it was silent in idle...
