FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread
Just as reported previously by other posters. X5 II heats a bit. Nothing too much, but more than X3 or else.- fooboo

Makes sense. Unfortunately, I can't help it. I have A3 and use it. On X5 I set volume to 0. It does not matter at all. For some reason, dunu put out sound not that loud as people mostly post. On A3 at 3, sometimes even 4. I listen to 24 bit flac-s ad dsd-s. Finally, it is real pleasure to read...- fooboo

Available at my place, but the price tag led me to A3. To answer to fritobugger, Dunu straight from X5 II sound fine, but have to be volume matched up to 70+. For some reason it bugged me. Nothing wrong, just that.- fooboo

Huh! Thanks! I was so furious about my stupid mistake. Your answer calms me down. A3 might not be the best amp solution for dunu. I like that little beast, but people consider topping... as better. What do you think? Chinese brands tend to ship free and fast. No amp simply forces me to wind up...- fooboo

Not strictly about X5. I use X5 II as a source, inserted fiio A3 amp to feed Dunu 2000. My question is about something happened accidentaly. Moving volume knob, I also moved gain to hi, for about a minute. Would it damage earphones? It unnerves me so much, that I simply cannot listen to the...- fooboo

Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)
Someone paired dunu 2000 with portable amp? For some reason I take into account to get fiio A3, just as I use one with etymotic hf5. Reason? Well... it needs to be at 60-70 to sound properly. 24 bit flac and dsd files. Best regards all.- fooboo

Spiral Dot difference ep-fx9 and ep-fx8
Model 9 is probably newer and replacing 8. Or not? I plan to get them for Dunu 2000. Any experience using dunu with spiral dots and amp like fiio? Best regards.- fooboo

Dunu 2000 and proper tips
I just failed to find proper seal on dunu 2000. Black, big, bi flange silicone tips are the only ones that gave me whole spectrum, including the bass. My ear canals are small and it was suprise to me. Clears and grays just did not suit. I googled comply, spinfit and JVC spiraldot tips. Posters...- fooboo

Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)
Googling all around. For some reason I failed to get proper seal. Big, big bi silicone in the pack are the best for me. Strange, since I have small ear canals. What should work medium clears and grays simply have no bass, for me. I googled JVC spiral dots. How are they and what model should I...- fooboo

1TrickPony! That Penon site looks promising. Free shipping. Just to decide what might be the best option. They have spinfit and simple foams. I will wait a bit longer to get few more answers. Thank you for advice!!!- fooboo

Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)
Seems I need an advice. Got Dunu 2000 and paired it with fiio X5 II. Have to add red and silver ring. The only tip I like so far is double bi flange, big one. My ear canal is not wide, but smaller tips just don't bring enough bass. I assume I would get comply or else, like spiraldot or spinfit...- fooboo

Finally got Dunu DN-2000! Since a lot of posters have x5 II Dunu combination, I'd need some advice. I hardly succeeded to find correct tip, that suited me on earphones. What works is red plus silver ring and biggest double silicone. My ear canals are not wide, but, strangely, none of smaller...- fooboo

Hendrix is much, much better alive. Berkeley is my favorite, but Winterland also. Band of Gypsys from 1970... And just when it comes to Allmans, and Jefferson Airplane, and Little Feat... What puzzled me is: what differs two same earbuds? The price is different. One says "2015", the other...- fooboo

Huh! After a little bit of surfing, I found 2 solutions. 1. shenzhen amy store, $300, plus customs, probably $100. aliexpress, I mean. 2. amazon from US, $250, plus shipping and customs $150. For no special reason I will use shenzhen way. A good friend of mine will drive me...- fooboo

Just as I made my mind and chose to get Dunu dn-2000, I learned I should wait few months, before being able to do that. Locally, there is a seller of Audio Technica. I'm quite interested. Would you elaborate a bit more, please? About flat/v-shaped, volume height, everything you find important. And how it fits ear canal? Silicone tips that come with it. Never heard Fidue. Nor Dunu. Regarding Shure, I think I finished with them after 210 model I still have. I assume Etymotic hf5 is simply not sensitive enough and it takes me to turn the volume up. It never took a breath out of me, frankly. Reading reviews, people mostly rave about dunu 2000...- fooboo

Exactly the same. Got the card, put files on it. X5 has wider stage, sounds a bit more flat and detailed. Etymotic hf5 is better on X3, for sure. For some reason it is not easy to satisfied this little beast on X5. One might say "not a match". Volume seems to be the same on both devices...- fooboo

Would have to ask someone to get Dunu for me and ship me. Complicated as much as one might consider. Looking local stores online. Bose, JBL, akg, sennheiser, shure... One klipsch r6i. To answer previous question. Etymotic hf5 is 16 ohm iem. For some reason I liked it better via a3 then straight from x3. At my area I cannot go for internet stores. They don't ship. So, I have to go local and buy what is available. First step: getting a card today. Next step: slowly looking...- fooboo

In fact, I have old shure se210. Never liked it. Connected it to x3/a3 combo. How it sounds? Fine at first. Then you realized bass is too much. Nice sound stage, but it is all bass. That sennheiser iem is about $800. I'd not sleep for weeks if I'd buy it. Etymotic is fine, but not love for...- fooboo
