The discovery thread!
For the Sm E100, use a even more advanced driver (beryllium? Titanium? Bio-cell?) and tune it even better than the E80, and I'll pay $100-150 for it. Hands down. Let me know what's next? I adore my E80.- AngelOfMercy

Fidue A73 - Hybrid (1DD + 1BA) IEM - Impressions and discussion thread
I have it. Works great, but I don't like messing with the EQ with it, since I have to change it from earphone to earphone, and when I'm mega lazy, I just plug the a73 right into my iPhone with iPod app, and away I go! But yeah, Neutron is snazzy.- AngelOfMercy

I'd say the Dita Answer might be your logical upgrade, with that need for expansive soundstage, and I think even less expensive that the Shure's??- AngelOfMercy

I wouldn't say over, but in some ways equal. If you prefer a more neutral and realistic bass, then the E80. If you like that heavy bass with good timbre, then the A73 is the fun IEM.- AngelOfMercy

I wish they would have made the A73 without the mic. I don't have any use for a mic.- AngelOfMercy

The Mee tips definitely reduce the bass a lot. I used to use the Mee tips with the FX850, and they were excellent for those (messed the timbre a little though).- AngelOfMercy

For those of you using an iPhone 6 and using the native player and EQ, after extensive EQ rolling, I found the best EQ setting with the A73 is "Treble Booster". It removes the mid bass hump, and brings up the details, without really getting sibilant or bright/peaky. Very enjoyable listen.- AngelOfMercy

I have the ATE. A pretty good cheapo IEM. Decent across the board. Yeah, the highs are a tad smoothed out, but so is the Tenore, and people seemed to LOVE those. ATE is good for on the go, don't care if they get roughed up or lost pair, and definitely a good gym IEM.- AngelOfMercy

It's not based solely on his review. It's taken as a whole, and there's been quite a few reviews and comments, also on the discovery page, and they were tried by quite a number of solid ears, and all told, it's sees like a really decent sound, but nothing jaw dropping. Sorry.- AngelOfMercy

You need to tip roll ASAP, and give the dynamic driver a chance to break in. The treble is not peaky, when you find the right tips. The bass is boomy, but that settles a tad, plus just EQ the bass down a little, find the right tips, and you will get a smooth lush sound.- AngelOfMercy

Personally I wouldn't waste my time with the Macaws. They got pretty solid reviews, but they seemed to get passed right over, even by the reviewers, which to me means decent, but not really a game changer or keeper. When something is truly outstanding, the hype train is maintained...at least for...- AngelOfMercy

Nothing is the holy grail. I thought spending $280.00 for the FX850 was going to be the holy grail based on all the reviews and comments, and although they are stellar, with insane timbre and treble (the best ever!), the bass is bloated and unruly, and the soundstage is average. The E80, to my...- AngelOfMercy

+1 with peter, but I did get mine through Micca, but still, the price of $69 is a steal for the performance you get. They prompted me to sell my FX850 and keep my A73 and Doppio on the sidelines for everyday listening (well...I do get a lot of use out of my A73 when I'm using my computer).- AngelOfMercy

You are right in that aspect. I've owned the vsd1 and GR99, and neither was sibilant, but then again, neither was that good, even for the price. Never tried the BA phones they have, just the dynamics.- AngelOfMercy
