Over the weekend I picked up a set of Shure SRH840 headphones at a local big box retailer for $149.   The treble harshness present in the SRH 440s is mostly gone in the 840s.  And the overall balance seems to be a shade warmer than the SRH440.  Plus there's a noticeable improvement in the bass...
