If you crave the ultimate refinement and depth in bass, I don't think anything can come close to AKG K3003. They are just magical.

Interesting read so far. I think kef is one brand that puts a lot on conference and imaging as I own a pair of nicely done bookshelves, RDM-1. Hopefully more interest in these newbies will happen among audio enthusiasts.

Can anyone compare these to multi BA IEMs like Logitech UE 900s or the NuForce Primo 8s or is that too tall an order?

For any of those people who are still looking to buy these on eBay, my suggestion is to get these at around 50$. They are a great but at the price. Give them a good 40-50 hour burn in. You will notice the Bass magically tightening up. Very good fun sound. You will not regret your buy.

I can say I am greatly enjoying my HE400s and their sound quality closely matches the pristine quality of my AKG3003. That is a real order to match.
