Just ordered a gold pair from 1More's official store on AliExpress for about 120€. I'm a huge Sony MDR-V6 user and I can't wait to hear how they'll compare. Gonna partially use them with a Fiio X1. Do you guys think it is worth it to get a portable amp to drive them better or they'll be fine?

They are 100% fake. The Sony logo on the pouch is the main detail where you can see that it's not an original. It should be white and printed instead of black and pressed. The ear pads seem to be cheaply made and the headband stitching looks bad as well. The "For Digital" sticker looks wrong...

This is exactly what I did yesterday for my Japan V6  I unglued the original foam pieces instead of using the stock DT 250 ones since I've read it could change the sound signature somehow. Even with these the sound is slightly deeper in the bass than it was before, not a big deal though.

I'm not sure if the ones from the bay are higher quality. But yeah, they do look thin. I guess that has something to do with the original CD900s pads being thinner.

I was wondering if any of you guys have ever seen the original retail box of the MDR-V4? After a bunch of searches, I've noticed that the V2, V4 and V6 were remade by Sony a bit later under the names of 7502, 7504 and 7506 as you already know but the V3, V5 and V7 were forgotten in some way...

I thought the MDR-V7 had Titanium Deposition Diaphragm. Anyway, from what I read the V7 does have more bass bass than the V6. I've compared my V6 with a 7506 and I can confirm that the 7506 got more mids and trebles but less bass. I'm also wondering how the CD900 behaves compared to these.
