How about a computer user's guide for Newbies?
If I knew enough to even begin to make sensible suggestions, I'd certainly try and get the ball rolling.- ndwalker1

How about a computer user's guide for Newbies?
I'm not new to higher end audio, but I AM new to using cans at my desktop, and I've made a few 'duh' sorts of errors in the process of getting started. I borrowed a pair of nice Grados (middle of their line?) and downloaded some 'hi rez' music to my Windows desktop and found the sound fatiguing...- ndwalker1

Line Out okay with no headphone out?
Thanx Tomb. I guess I'll need to ante up and get myself an amp that will leave the sound of the NFB as intact as possible. Neil- ndwalker1

Line Out okay with no headphone out?
This is probably a stoopid question (I'm a newb)... so apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I've got an Audio GD DAC that I like, that has no headphone output (NFB-17). Can I use the 'Line Outputs' (using an RCA to headphone jack adapter) so long as I am careful to make sure...- ndwalker1

Desktop or Portable DAC / Amp? Best bang for the buck?
Thanks for (a) being a voice of reason in terms of jumping into this new venture at a reasonable price point, and (b) suggesting a couple of American made alternatives to the Audio GD desktop DAC/Amp. I have no qualms about buying Chinese or Asian or International products so long as they are...- ndwalker1

Desktop or Portable DAC / Amp? Best bang for the buck?
It varies a lot from day to day. Some days I'm only at the desk for 30 minutes, a couple of times a day. Other days I'm there for hours at a time and it seems like I only get away from it to eat. I'm curious about what you'd recommend if I were to invest less? Is there something out there...- ndwalker1

Desktop or Portable DAC / Amp? Best bang for the buck?
Thanks for the advice guys. I hadn't really considered the hassles associated with batteries and charging and replacement. Any suggestions for a new or used desktop DAC / headphone amp combo that would fit the bill ($300 or less)?- ndwalker1

Desktop or Portable DAC / Amp? Best bang for the buck?
VERY new to the headphone world, and I am debating whether to go with a portable DAC / headphone amp, or a desktop DAC / headphone amp. My use would be primarily at my desktop computer (I do have a Windows laptop, but only use it when traveling, and I rarely do that). I don't need additional...- ndwalker1
