FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread

So quick question.... Has anyone had issues with the FH7s being very loose? I have tried 2 pairs, multiple cables and of course adjusting the ring on the mmcx connector but it stills spins around with no resistance. I was just wondering if anyone one else has this issue and if they found a...

Really? I found the bass to be better on the FH5S. Went deeper and hit harder for me. The treble has gotten more tame over time.

I agree. I wound up selling my FH7 and sticking with the FH5. I now own the FH5S and am loving them. Still brand new so I’m not sure yet but I know I still love my OG FH5

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I believe they are t-400. I can’t find the package. They are the same ones that fit Sennheizer IE80s if that helps.

I had a huge problem with the highs and the Comply tips helped a great deal. Ultimately I wound up selling the FH7 and sticking with the FH5. I couldn’t tame the highs enough for them to be enjoyable. I tried for months but couldn’t convince myself. The FH5 is bring me great joy despite the...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I bought the FH7’s back when they were first released. I had some issues at first with bass response and sibilants but was able to fix this by using foam tips as well as some other adjustments. After living with them for months I had no choice but to sell them. I wanted so bad for them to be...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

I had this same issue at first. My hip hop and electronics tracks sounded way better on the FH5 as far as bass goes. Once I found the right seal the bass was much better and more controlled. I thought I had a good seal with the tips l was using as they worked well with the FH5 but I was wrong. I...

I agree 100%. I had a huge issue with lack of bass. Even though other tips worked with the FH5 for some reason the only way I get a seal is with Comply M tips. I would try all the tips you have because the bass on these is fantastic and plentiful.

Have you tried some hybrid tips? I know they are rare but they have silicone on the outside and foam on the inside. I’m not sure if this would do the trick but if you can find a pair to try it may work.

I had an issue with sibilance when I first got these. I solved the issue by finding a tip with the right seal. Once I found the right seal the sibilance was fixed and the bass came back with a vengeance. I had to use different tips than with the FH5 which was not intuitive at all.

I had them in about 8 hours yesterday and at times I forgot they were in. With the comply tips they didn’t feel weighty at all. They were less noticeable than the IE80s I have and they are quite light. Sometimes the comfort can be better even when the weight is different.

No it just means that that combination works best for your ears. No such thing as a proper head-fier.

We always used ID10T errors to tell clients that they are the issue and not the tech without them knowing.

I agree. I originally thought they were very bright even with bass tips and bass filter but as it turns out it was only because I had a bad seal. Once I found the correct seal I was forced to use the treble filter as the bass filter was too dark. I honestly believe these sound amazing but they...

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Ok guys update on Bass and sibilance... I have been spending a lot of time playing with these FH7s. I have discovered a few things. The seal on these with my ears is super picky. This is the most difficulty I have had with IEMs since my Sennheizer IE80s. I have tried all the included tips, and...

That is certainly a bummer. I had a similar issue with my Q5. The connecting cable was faulty and would cut out all the time. I got it replaced but is still not the best first impression.

The recording is Norah Jones “ Cold Cold Heart” from 2002. It’s ripped From CD to FLAC. But honestly I think it’s me. I can hear it in my other headphones which I didn’t before.

So I listened to Sarah McLachlan’s Angel and didn’t hear any noise or sibilance. Sounded great on the FH7. I don’t have a copy of City of Angels, I just have one track from it so I couldn’t compare but really no noise on the one from surfacing.

[FiiO FH7] Flagship 5-Driver (1DD + 4BAs) Hybrid In-Ear Monitors, Knowles DFK + SWFK Composite BA Drivers, 13.6mm Beryllium DD Driver

Update: I believe I found the issue with the sibilance I am hearing. It’s my ears. I got out the old Hd600 and I could hear it there too. It’s a little more pronounced on the FH7 as they are a bit brighter. This is something recent so please don’t judge the FH7 based on my comments. There is...

I am still hearing the sibilance. I have a fresh ripped Norah Jones CD in WAV format through a Q5 and its pretty noticeable. It may be just my hearing. I am not completely convinced it’s me but I will keep experimenting.

My interest in iems over full size has grown in the last few years due to the portability and the price point of great sounding headphones coming down. I still love my Sennheizer’s but they are not as convenient As iems and they don’t make me look like weirdo sitting in my car with a huge pit...
