ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Ahh, very helpful.  Thanks!  Can you suggest what humidifier bags you use?  BTW, I assume that those bags remove moisture from the air, not humidify it! =)

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Ok, great.  Thanks for the advice.  I think my main concern is whether I am putting too much pressure on them to get a good seal.  Seems possible that this pressure could bend the IEM and perhaps damage the wiring.  I can get a correct seal by pressing lightly, but when there is a lot of...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Thanks longbowbbs.  I just got a pair of T1's myself.  Mine has green ring-shaped disks that go into the opening.  Do you know what is the purpose of replacing those?  I'm also wondering, do you use a de-humidifier?     This thread about the T1 is very long, and the number of reported...

ACS T1 Live! Custom IEM Review: Silicone for the Big Stage

Can anyone suggest what is the proper cleaning/care procedures for the ACS T1?  There is a lot of talk about that here, but I'm not sure if I've seen a definitive answer.  Given the amount of trouble people are having, I suspect care is critical.

    Got My 2MAX from Sensaphonics

Jack,   Thanks for the info on NRR.  I understand the dB stuff you were describing.  I would be interested to know if Sensaphonics actually computed the dB reduction as a function of frequency.  It's ok, though.  Obviously this is not super pertinent.   Thanks, -Eric

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Thanks John.  The 4S is a touch too pricey for me, and it sounds like the 3S isn't quite right.  I appreciate your help though.  Does anyone else make silicone models?  I don't know of any in the USA other than sensaphonics.

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Ok, please let me clarify that I am not asking for the frequency charts!!!   I am simply trying to obtain a verbal description of how the 3C/S differs from the 4C/S in terms of how the bass and highs are amped.  John suggested that the 4C would appeal to me, so if the 3C is similar, that that...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Great, thanks John.     Revision question first:  I asked about the R option mainly to get a sense of what is the frequency response of the 3C/S.  The 4S is too expensive for me.  The 3S is passable.  So I'm trying to figure out if the 3S response would work for me.  How does it differ from...

JH5 vs Custom Art Music Two vs Noble 3C ... etc

Can anyone respond to sebb's questions, above?  I have the same exact questions about sound signature.     Though this does raise an interesting question about amps: why not do your EQ in a digital player?  Since today's music is stored digitally, digital amplification should be mathematically...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Hi John,    Thanks for your direct response.  This is really helpful!     The 4C/S did sound a good fit for me.  I am trying to keep the price down, but have a strong preference for silicone due to its noise isolation.  Noble is one of the few who offer silicone.  I'm wondering if silicone...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Can anyone comment about the Noble 3C?     The website mentions a "V-shaped frequency response" for the 3C.  The next model up (the 4C) "lacks the controversial dip in the high frequency region".  I am wondering if the 3C is the model that has that dip.     I am a jazz/classical/acoustic...

Need best custom in-ear monitor for noise isolation, jazz/classical

Ok.  Obviously I don't know what his reasons are.  This is one thing that Sensaphonics seems to get right.  There's not a lot of hocus-pocus on their website.

Need best custom in-ear monitor for noise isolation, jazz/classical

SDBiotek, those Nobles look interesting.  They come in silicone, too.  I'm trying to find the detailed specs for the Noble 3S.  Does it state the frequency range?

Need best custom in-ear monitor for noise isolation, jazz/classical

Thanks SDbiotek.  Regarding the noise isolation, I think I have a reasonable sense of how well they will work given my experience with the earplugs.  Definitely don't expect complete silence given that sounds are transmitted through our bones as well as the air.   Is there a reason why I...

Need best custom in-ear monitor for noise isolation, jazz/classical

Hi bobby. Thanks!  I am working in a large office that has an open floor plan.  I am also easily-distracted, and typically want complete control over my work environment so I can focus.  Since jazz/classical has a large dynamic range, I often hear noise during the quiet moments.  That irks and...

    Got My 2MAX from Sensaphonics

Hi Jack,  I wanted to ask about the noise reduction in sensaphonics models.  Some earplugs are rated with a "Noise Reduction Rating" (NRR).  NRR is measured in dB, but according to one website, NRR is not the number of dB that is cut.        http://www.coopersafety.com/noisereduction.aspx  ...

Need best custom in-ear monitor for noise isolation, jazz/classical

Hi folks,   I am trying to find the most noise-isolating custom, in-ear, monitor that I can.  I am new to this market, and would really appreciate your thoughts.  I will be using it for casual listening to jazz/classical/newgrass---little or no rock/pop.  Price below $800; ideally, $400...
