Looking to replace my Sony's MDR V500/V700 with something new.

Mixr's wouldn't work for production. Oddly, I still find them the best sound profile of all the Beats headphones I've tried. More balanced, somehow. I don't like Beats in general, though so that's not saying much. Have you checked out KRK 8400s? I don't know how much they cost now, but I really...

Looking to replace my Sony's MDR V500/V700 with something new.

Try the Koss Pro DJ-100s. The bass isn't really heavy, but the sound is reasonably clear. If you're a DJ, though, you might be looking for bass cues. In that case, you might find the Pro DJ-100s too quiet for you on the bottom end. I hate to say it, but there's always Beats Mixr's. They are by...

Koss PRODJ100: Headphones by which all others must be judged!

$43 on Amazon right now. Can you get a better set of phones for $43? I submit that you cannot.    I have become a sort of fanboy for Koss as a result of these headphones. I worked at Best Buy and finally got a set of these after trying a couple of pairs of Sennheiser headphones. (Not the...

    Why the Beats Hate?

I don't mean to trash talk beats owners. If somebody likes a set of headphones for the way they sound, I don't care. I'm happy for them.    I will admit, though, that I don't like to hear people insist that Beats are "the best" and that nothing else comes close. This is a result of clever...

    Show us your vintage headphones!

Woah. I'm getting poked at with grammar lessons by a couple of guys who then begin to talk about their "fursonas"? On a headphone forum?! I don't know what kind alternate reality I've stepped into, but it's WICKED cool!

Yes! Hypothetical speakers are THE WORST! Save your imaginary money and pretend to not buy them!

Well, I can't hear them from where I am, but they look AWESOME! It's like you have two actual speakers on your head.

    Why the Beats Hate?

I I think they got away with it because they were advertising "Beats audio" the headphones and eq could be considered a "package". They did replace the display in time, though, with another display that had no "comparison" module.

    Why the Beats Hate?

Yeah, having worked at Best Buy I can say that even the sales reps aren't aware of what's going on with Beats audio. I wasn't, at first. I had to look into it. A really dirty trick is that on the displays (which are provided by vendors, not Best Buy) they have an audio jack so you can "compare"...

    Why the Beats Hate?

I don't mind beats. I worked in Best Buy. I got to try them all. I thought the studios and executives sounded ok. However, not $300-500 ok. As for reliability, the first generation was garbage. The second generation fixed some of the problems, not all. The executives were actually reasonably...

The ear pads are already new. The guy had replaced them, listened to them for a couple hours to test them, and then sold them. He likes bigger, around the ear style phones.

Just got these today. Koss HV/1A. Might become my favorite of all time. OF. ALL. TIME.

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Just got these today. Love them so far! One thing I notice, though, is an ever so slight rattle in the left ear on some, but not all, bass notes. The bass in these is far more powerful than I was expecting. It's very controlled, though. Does anybody have any thoughts on these? Does that rattle...
