Thanks! Bought new from EC. Put in the order / first payment back in October, so there was a bit of a wait. But early impressions indicate the wait was not in vain - really brings my HD650s and 580s to life!

I have a paduak Atticus, cherry Eikon, and Eddie Current ZDS arriving in the next couple months hopefully. I had originally ordered ZDS for use with HD650/580, but I have a feeling it will also do well with the ZMFs, since they are 300 ohm as well. Fun times ahead!

Hopefully a headphone of this caliber won't decrease in value by 75% within 6 years.  That would be a much higher rate of depreciation than we typically see in the headphone market.

Hopefully 6 years from now, people will look at the ETHER FLOW more favorably than we currently look at a 2010 MacBook.

    Apple still sells the 2012 MacBook Pro.  They reduced the price as well, all the way down to ~$1299 for a 13" laptop with a 5400-rpm disk drive and a dual-core CPU.

Upper-mid dip and treble spike (+/- 18dB) looks kinda rough compared to HD650 charts I've seen, but hard to compare charts from different measurement rigs.  Safe to say the Elear certainly looks brighter overall.  Will be interesting to hear impressions.

Just received these yesterday so still growing accustomed to their signature, but man these are freakin great.  Few quick thoughts: - Lovely natural sounding tone on the warmer side of neutral.  In that aspect they are similar to my HD650 and ZMF Blackwood, but there are clear differences...

So I swapped my Modi 2 out for the Progeny. My chain is now Wyrd -> Gustard U12 -> Progeny -> HD650   I used to use SonarWorks EQ to help out with sub-bass rolloff.  But I hook up the Progeny and holy cow.  HUGE subbass coming out of nowhere!  No longer need to use EQ, the bass hits very deep...

It doesn't appear to be Version A (no sticker on back).  Apologies if this has been answered earlier in the thread, but do you know what the Version A upgrade consisted of?  Wondering if the difference is big between A and non-A.

Just picked up a Theta Progeny off eBay, along with a Gustard U12 converter!  Since my only DAC has been a Modi 2, I'm hoping this is a big step forward.  I am slightly concerned about the Progeny being ~22 years old at this point, but the seller said it was in good operating and cosmetic...

Drives my ZMF Blackwood fostex mod just fine with plenty of headroom on the volume knob. The Polaris has enough power for pretty much anything aside from running HE-6 / K1000 to their full potential.
