iFi ZEN DAC discussion + impression
Is the V2 a worthwhile upgrade, I had V1 for a good while and found it great value for money and drove the HD650 really well- Nikonkit

I have had three HD 650s, the degree of burnt in made a huge difference and in some cases there is undeniable some differences in sound quality, the oldest silver boxed version is the most open and detailed to my ears- Nikonkit

DX240 DAP. DAC ES9038PRO - NEW: AMP8MK2S .****** NEW Firmware! 2.01 *******
I compared AK SA700, Hiby R8, Fiio M15 and IbassoDX240/Amp8 - The Hiby R8 edges out the competition in all round performance, M15 is artificially detailed, SA700 is sweet but thin, DX240 is good all round but the R8 is a leap forward in soundstage and richness.- Nikonkit

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
I have been enjoying my ER4P for a number of years until the cable joint became loose and is now intermittent, I could not find a replacement cable with the original two point connection, only cable available on Etymotic website is the mmcx connection, can anybody help?- Nikonkit

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)
Mojo 1 is a little beefier, very slightly more refined with more power into Sennheiser HD650, the W2 is not shamed in any way sounding quick and detailed, the difference is maybe 5% in favour of the former- Nikonkit

Reply to review by 'Nikonkit' on item 'iBasso DX240'
I auditioned it at length and was about to pull the trigger until I learnt that the lineout is variable, I mainly want to use it direct into an headphone amp for HD800S, otherwise the sound quality of the DX240 is as good as any if not better in this price range.- Nikonkit

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)
I was surprised by the W2 OG because I thought something like a Mojo would walk all over it but they are comparable with maybe the Mojo just a bit cleaner and more powerful but the W2 certainly stood its ground sounding just as desirable in pure sound quality terms.- Nikonkit

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
For whoever is still considering if the HD58X is for them, I brought an Astell and Kern mid level SA700 DAP at a closing down special for US$550 and the HD59X sounded very good with it, layers, details, sound stage are all there, the HD650 is a touch more refined but just a very small...- Nikonkit

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I beg to differ, I have both, using the pads from the 6XX and auditioned with another friend who has better hearing than me, we both thought the HD650 sounded more organic, more focused, 6XX sounded more like the HD600 than the sibling, cleaner than the HD650, a touch wider soundstage, leaner...- Nikonkit

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
If you use it with a dap buy the HD58X, it's easier to drive, if you use the headphone with a good amp on the desktop definitely the HD6XX. Unless you have both and compare side by side you will be happy buying one or the other depending on what your needs and equipment level.- Nikonkit

What's the best amp for HD800
I used the Elekit TU8600 300B amp with the HD800S and they sounded fantastic, I have also tried the Sennheiser HDVA600 using the balanced output to get a cleaner more dynamic sound, both of which are at the ear candy level- Nikonkit

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I still feel that using a 4.4 cable made the biggest improvement to the sound quality, better dynamics, separation and definition without changing the basic character of the brand- Nikonkit

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?
I play some classical symphonic pieces using the Qutest into the Eleckit 8600 300B amp and IFI Zen DAC into Lakepeople G111 to gauge the difference between HE500 and HD58X, the Hifiman is no doubt more spacious, refine and a class above in presentation but the HD58X is upfront, immediate and...- Nikonkit

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?
Thank you for your views, I am not much into classical music but will certainly try some tonight on the HD58X. I was listening to general pop music - a vocalist with a few guitar and drums, not overly complex stuff when I had the impression that the HD58X was okay comparing to the cans I...- Nikonkit

Dig out my Sennheiser HD58X, after warming up I was amazed at the value for money offered by it, definitely the best sound quality you can get for US$150, even don't feel outclassed by Hifiman HE500 and AKG k712, just a difference in favour- Nikonkit

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
After many years, at least ten years if I remember correctly, my ER4s begin to sound intermittent on the left side, I email Etymotic twice asking about the possibility of having it repaired to no avail, they simply did not respond. My pair still sound very good and I want to have them fixed...- Nikonkit
