    Ogg Vorbis Sounds Great!!!

I converted 30,000 of my FLAC files to Ogg Vorbis.  Ogg sounds wonderful. It is a lossy format, but take a listen.  I prefer the sound of Ogg level 6 to MP3 320 and , Ogg seems to be smaller than MP3.  Now I can have 11,000 tunes on my Fiio X3 with a 64gb card!  Any more love out there?

Wav, APE, AIFF, FLAC, and ALAC are all lossless file codecs and many audiophiles say that there is no difference in sound quality between them.  I use all these file types, but feel that WAV sounds superior to the rest.  I listen with Audio Technica ATHM50 headphones and a Fiio X3 (firmware...

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini that is plugged into a Sherwood 100 watt receiver and 4 Bose 201 speakers. I have tried various DACs, such as the Fiio X3, ect. Although I have sometimes noticed some more detail and warmth, external DACs seem to create latency with my Airport Express connected...

Is 48khz an adequate sample rate?

I have been listening to audio in 192, 176, 88, 48 and 44.1khz.  At first I thought that I could here much more clarity and detail in the higher sample rates.  Then I down sampled some 192 and 96khz audio to 48khz.  I could here no difference in quality.  I use a mac mini and sometimes a Fiio X3...

    Swinsian, The iTunes Alternative

I'm new to these forums and wanted to share my pleasant experience with the Swinsian audio player and organizer.  I have a 2.5 TB audio library and have had problems with iTunes lag and crashing.  Furthermore, The fact that iTunes tends to color the sound and will not change the sample rate.   ...
