Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube
figured out the random track issue, all i have to do is to wait for 20/30s after i enter the "songs" section, then select a song and it will play the right one. I guess database initialization takes some time with big libraries.- SoundSquare

Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube
So there is no plan to override this limit ? I have older DAPs with much limited CPU ressources who have no issue indexing 30000 tracks (like a Hiby R2, which holds 25000 tracks now, HibyOS too i guess). I wish i had read about it here before purchasing it as i never use folder browsing, i...- SoundSquare

Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube
Just got an N3Pro, very neat DAP, but i have an issue. I'm using a 1Tb microsd card with about 25000 flac & DSD files on it, but the N3Pro seems not to index more than 20000 files, (scanning stops at 20000) while it indexes everything on my other DAPs (Fiio x7mk2, Shanling m6pro, A&K a380) , Is...- SoundSquare

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
did you actually read my post ? :-) ZS doesn't index more than 11 000 files from my hdd which has 60 000 files, when attached to it. it's not a matter of sound quality. There would be no difference as they both send the signal to the same DAC. It's just that i don't want to have a PC running...- SoundSquare

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
OK so i jumped on the Zen Stream as i've always been looking for a streamer to replace my JRiver PC which is not the most convenient. I received the Stream tonight.... and i'm sending it back. It doesn't do anything more than a RPI + Volumio solution. Just much more expensive. The RPI + Volumio...- SoundSquare

Every detail matters: Introducing the all-new IE 900
I have some concerns about these. I had the IE300 that i had to send back because the cable broke after 10 days. Some shortcuts from the mmx connectors and no more sound in the right ear after a while. As you have to bend the memory wire every time you put them on it didn't survive for long. I...- SoundSquare

Dali Headphones
Unfortunately i can't think of a decent (to my taste, trying not to be dogmatic) bluetooth set for this price. Unless you go for a good BT cable and iems. I used the Audio Technica ATH DSR9BT for some time and it was quite good but it's on a superior price range and may not please everyone. But...- SoundSquare

Dali Headphones
haha i do indeed have quite a collection of mid/high end cans and also a very picky ear when it comes to hiss (sold my andromedas for that reason) check my edit, using them through USB makes hiss mostly disappear :) also i listen mostly at very low volumes, best way to highlight any hissing...- SoundSquare

Dali Headphones
From my own experience with them (a week, 50h burn in) : The hiss doesn't disappear with burn in. It's annoying but these headphones are supposed to be used outdoor so it's barely noticeable, if you wanted something to listen at home at quiet volume in a quiet environment i wouldn't have...- SoundSquare

Aune M1s Impressions & Discussion Thread (Aune's newest hi-res DAP with ESS9018KM + 2.5mm Balanced Out)
Support for 512Gb microSD would be great (they work but won't display the tracks total files, probably a database limit)- SoundSquare

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
i turns off immediately. I have a few tracks that shows "invalid file" and that's fine, the player skips to the next one, but for a lot of tracks it simply turns off the D2. If only there was a way to disable the scanning at startup i wouldn't spend so much time waiting for it to reboot.- SoundSquare

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
Am i the only one here having stability issues with the Plenue D2 ? I scanned and verified each of the Flac files on my SD cards with Flac tools and no errors reported. Still the d2 crashes often when playing in shuffle mode, to the point that i don't really use it anymore and switched back to...- SoundSquare

i only use the audiophile foams, the sound is just so perfect with these tips. I've been using them for 2 months and they are still in perfect shape. It's possible to order some spare ones on the Flare website anyway.- SoundSquare

@Lacas : yes and yes, i really love them with drum'n'bass, psychill, psydub, all bass heavy genre. It has a great impact and bass quantity without being too much, mids and highs are still crystal clear. Best IEM i've ever heard (better than my andromeda, vega, s-EM9 etc).- SoundSquare

great review, i totally agree with everything you wrote. I also own them with some more expensive IEMs (Andromeda, Vega, S-EM9, AK T8ie, Oriolus) and the Flare 2HD killed them all which was a total surprise for me. It makes every other IEM i own sound muffled and akward, Only one regret, the...- SoundSquare

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
+1 this database update thing is getting on my nerves, especially since i have a lot of unsupported flac files on my card which makes the D2 crash / turn off by itself every few mins. Those unsupported flac files are perfectly fine on my other DAPs. So please Cowon : - Allow 512Gb cards to...- SoundSquare

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
I got my plenue D2 this morning so it's still very fresh but i tried 200Gb card (Sandisk, no problem), 400Gb card (Sandisk, works but don't index all files) and 512Gb card (Samsung, won't index files at all) all in FAT32. So the limitation that Cowon refers to is to be taken seriously. Now i...- SoundSquare

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
For all of you who have an issue with the volume wheel i thought i'd share the good news from mine. I used a cotton swab with some screen cleaner lotion and rubbed the wheel while rotating it to apply the lotion, i did this for like 2 mins and now my wheel is back to life, responsive and...- SoundSquare

i also have the same volume wheel issue. It seems to be hardware related, the X7 mk2 doesn't get old too well... maybe it can be fixed by cleaning it as there's probably some dirt behind it, but that's impossible to clean.- SoundSquare
